I eat raw cookie dough and cake batter all the time... everyone I know always did. Except my cousins. But theyre sick all the time anyway.. lol.

Ive never heard of anyone getting anything more than a tummy ache.. which makes sense if you're eating spoon fulls of rich dough.

Ive never even heard it on the news, "boy, 6, dies of eating cookie dough"

Just wondered if anyone else had.

The thing that will make you sick with raw cookie dough is the raw egg in it. If the raw egg has salmonella that's in the cookie dough, yes you can get sick. Because it takes a certain high temperature to kill salmonella. I've always eaten raw cookie dough since I was little and never got sick once. Hope this helps. :)

i've got by no skill been ill from eating uncooked cookie dough. yet....i haven't eaten very lots of it that got here from an exterior source. i've got constantly made my very own with domestically grown eggs! As a newborn - my mom constantly offered those refrigerated plastic tubes of Pillsbury cookies & we the two ate the dough uncooked & cooked with none themes. i've got had foodstuff poisoning a time or 2 myself & i will verify why human beings could be careful approximately pushing the envelope while it includes foodstuff micro organism illnesses. My foodstuff poisoning got here from chicken that grew to become into skipped over too long & beans that had a unusual smell. The eating place tried to tell me that smell way coming from their elderly cheeses. The well-being branch shown it grew to become into the beans. I not often ever consume out to any extent further. i could in straightforward terms consume frozen uncooked cookie dough in this present day & age. this is a safer wager.

NO and there as been a lot of kids around me eating raw dough and licking the bowl. If you use fresh eggs the chance of getting sick is about 10'000 in 1

NO -
Although we are constantly told the danger of doing such.
Me and my siblings used to fight to lick the remaining dough from the pan, spoons, spatula's and beaters.

I did get a tummy ache afterwords a couple of times, but that was from my brother punching me in the stomach after I beat him to the mixing bowl.

Sure I cried a little but if memory serves me well, it was worth the cost.

Aren't sibling rivalries great ?

To ALL, Happy Licking and Happy Holidays !

I did it all the time as a little girl and never got sick. I just saw that Yahoo has an article about it so I guess you can get sick after all

you aren't going to get sick from that any more then you are from a true Cesar salad or any raw ingredient in food. Only if you use bad spoiled ingredients like eggs that are already spoiled, then of course you are going to get sick just like you would if you used mayo left out for a week-food poisoning.

no and I do it all the time.

I made a ton of cookies for the holidays and even ate a few raw cookies.

no problems here.

It could be a problem for the elderly, small children and immune deficient persons.
