I brought home a frozen solid 11 pound (aka: 4.800 kg) turkey. I put it in water on my counter top for about an hour when I first got it home. Then I put it into the fridge(not in water, just in it's wrapping) By the time I want to cook it (which is tomorrow) ..it will have been in the fridge thawing for about 3 1/2 days. Is it still okay?? Thank you in advance for you answers :)

I wouldn't cook it - throw it out and get another one

As long as it was refrigerated, and it sounds as if you did so, it will be perfectly safe. By the way, here in NC, we are able to buy a delicious, frozen turkey breast that is prepared to be cooked frozen. We have had many of them and they come out perfectly every time. We buy them from Harris-Teeter Super Markets. I guess most good grocers have them. I purchased one today (put it straight into freezer when I got home) for Christmas. I will put it in the oven on Christmas Day at 9:00 am, and it will be ready to come out of the oven at 1:00 pm. Allowing for a 30 minute resting period before slicing it, I will have delicious, freshly baked, perfectly safe and moist turkey for Christmas dinner. I like this turkey but do not like other turkeys. A 4.5lb. turkey breast costs about 13.50--and 90% meat.

Merry Christmas from North Carolina

If it is not OK it will smell. Only way you can tell if meat is off. Make sure you cook it to recommended internal temperature. I would think it should be OK, as most stores get their fresh birds in a week or more before xmas. Rinse it well with cold water then give it a salt water bath before cooking.

Yeah, it would be fine. As long as it has stayed cold, it's fine. It takes at least that long to thaw...don't worry!
