Eggnog! - Recipe 4
Basic Non-alcoholic Eggnog

dash of nutmeg
Separate eggs at room temp. Beat yolks till creamed with about half of sugar, whites till peaked then add other half of sugar. Beat cream till stiff. Then fold all together. Add vanilla to taste - but remember that a little bit of vanilla goes a long way.

For a dozen eggs. Smash the yolks with about a tablespoon of vinegar or dill pickle juice. Make sure all the lumps are out. Add about 1/2 cup of Hellmann's mayo, a teaspoon or 2 of yellow mustard, garlic powder and a few to several drops of Frank's Red Hot Sauce, depending how spicy you like them. Salt and white pepper to taste. Mix, mix, mix. Taste. Good? OK. Now use a pastry bag to pipe the filling into the egg whites. Garnish with a wedge of pickle, a slice of green or black olive, or whatever suits you. Sprinkle with paprika for added color. ENJOY!

It's not considered safe to eat raw eggs, and if you make your own eggnog, that's what you'll be doing. Most of the time they're OK and you'll get by with it, but you won't know for sure. If you do serve home-made eggnog, warn anyone who's pregnant that it contains raw eggs - they should stay away from drinking it.
