Got a recipe here for a fruit cake, which I am going to make on Saturday. A 9" square cake, to be cut into 4 for little gifts for people.

My question is this - the cooking temperature is 140C, 275F, Gas 1. What would that be in C in a fan assisted oven? I have made a few cakes in this oven, reducing the given temp by 10-15% ish, but it's very hit & miss.

Does anyone have a definite temperature, from a "fan-assisted oven cookery book" or something?

Thank-you!

It has just taken me hours to make a watercress soup. It was just a bit too much like hard work...

something tasty, not too traditional or common (don't want anything we're bored of) and not weighed down with heavy cheese, cream, or breadcrumbs...something healthy and light. If you have the link to the recipe that's fine or just a suggestion and I can search for a recipe. Thanks. And Happy Thanksgiving!

I am defrosting about 1.5 lbs of ground turkey right now so I can make dinner when I get home from class tonight.

I'm sick of my same ground turkey recipes, do you have any RECIPES? I'd love if they used pantry ingredients so I don't have to go to the store :)

Thank you!!

I want to start using my slow-cooker more, but the majority of my favorite recipes are for the oven or the stove-top. Is there a basic conversion formula for this? Especially for soups?

They are clearly two separate things, stuffings made with toast and dressings made with cornbread...Right?
Stuffing goes in the turkey and dressing is a side to eat with the turkey!

My dog has food alergies and is on a strict diet. Her food is made only of venison and potato. She can only have her food and water for atleast the next 6 weeks. There are no treats to go along with the diet (the company doesn't make them). I think it is cruel and unusual to not give a dog ANY treats so I am looking for a recipe for her. If you don't personally have one can you please tell me where I can find one?

Thank you

Dishes that Michigan is known for. Michigan and Ohio St. play this weekend and I'm the only one out here who gives a dam so I'm gonna cater my bbq with nothing but Michigan inspired dishes.
