Did you place the cone inside the outer shell, or under it? If you did the former it should not leak, if you did the later it will leak. Another reason why it might leak is if either piece is bent, and they do not create a seal.

Hmmm... be sure that both parts of the pan have not been bent or banged up. Even a slight "bing" can cause the edges to not meet cleanly and allow seepage.

It's probably time for a new pan. OR a new recipe... pound cake batter is NOT very liquidy, like cake mix batter is. It should be pretty stiff. But it's probably the pan.

Well if it's leaking now pull it out put it in a bowl line the pan with foil and replace the batter, you'll remember this for next time,huh?
