I need a couple of food gift ideas (with recipes and how to's) for children to make for a basket of goodies. The basket has to hold 3 or 4 different items and each item must contain enough for 30 people to get a little of that item. We already thought of one item and that is to make Hot chocolate cones... any other ideas?

I love those cookies and can find good ones at specialty cookie shops. Not at the "Grocery " store. Anyone got a good, easy recipe? I never baked home made cookies before but hey, there's always a first time...please be specific...thank you..... ;)

Do I stop preparing one loaf after splitting the dough, refrigerating until ready to bake? Or should I just bake both loaves and refrigerate one, then microwave when ready to serve?

I am making a "Thanksgiving Day" dinner for all my friends since we were all with our familys for the actual day. I bought a frozen 14 pound turkey yesterday and left it in the fridge for a whole day. It doesn't seem to be thawing that much so I am worried it won'te be ready by tomorrow morning when I need to start cooking it. Is there a fast way to thaw it?!? Ideas I had were putting it in cold water or maybe the microwave?

I took the advice of several people on here and purchased a egg poaching pan insert. I boiled the water, and turned the heat to medium, put the poacher insert in, placed two eggs in the insert and covered. I watch them cook until the whites were done, but the yolks were mostly cooked. What am I doing wrong?

I always make this using real butter, but from the beginning, I could tell the butter was not mixing well with the sugar and water. It was seperating the whole time. Even when the sugar got to hard crack stage, the oil from the butter was on it's own. Should I use a higher quality butter? Did I heat the butter too fast? Any ideas, friends??
