mmmmmmmmmmm, christmas cookies, Eilishaa, is right, those sand tarts are good good good but I like iced sugar cookies best. Just make a sugar cookie dough, use cookie cutters and frost with icing made with powdered sugar and milk, add a couple drops of food coloring to make green christman trees, red santas and white angels.mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Christmas Angel Cookies
Ingredients
1/2 c Shortening
1/2 c Cream cheese, softened
1 c Light brown sugar,*
1/2 c Granulated sugar
2 Eggs
3 c Flour
1/2 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Salt
1 tb Vanilla
2 c Candied fruit, mixed
2 c Broken pecans or almonds
Instructions
* firmly packed
The cream cheese gives these cookies a smooth texture, while the fruits sparkle and sweeten the flavor. Nice for using the candied fruits that didn't make it into the fruit cake.
Preheat oven to 350°.
In a large bowl, cream shortening and cream cheese until smooth and fluffy. Add sugars and eggs, mixing well. In a seperate bowl, sift flour, baking soda and salt together.
Add flour mixture to egg and sugar mixture; add vanilla. Mix well. Add candied fruit and nuts.
Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto lightly oiled cookie sheet and bake at 350° for about 10-12 minutes. The cookies will be just browned at the edges.
Hint: You may have to mix candied fruit and nuts in with your hands; a little shortening on your fingers will keep the mixture from sticking.

These cookies are so good! They come out kindy crispy and kinda chewy with an almondy/holiday spice kinda flavor. For the frosting just mix powdered sugar with milk or water and add a few drops of vanilla. You can add a few drops of food coloring too for decorating, and don't forget the colored sugar, sprinkles and red-hots.
1 cup butter, softened
1 tsp almond extract
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
3 1/4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp salt
* Beat together Butter, almond extract, sugar until fluffy
* Beat in eggs
* In separate bowl, mix flour, Baking powder, allspice, salt. Stir into butter mixture
* Form dough into a ball, cover with wax paper, chill for 1 hour.
* Roll out on wax paper till about 1/8 inch thick, cut with holiday cookie cutters.
* On an ungreased cookie sheet, bake @ 375 degrees for 5-10 min, or till golden.
You will never go back to regular sugar cookie dough after you've tried this!
