...would it be too much for me to ask her to dye it back to her "normal" color for the wedding? I don't want to have a bridesmaid who has neon glow hair in my wedding pictures. I don't want to be mean or turn into a bridezilla... (My wedding is still a year away, but I just want to find out the etiquette on this JUST in case she keeps it this color or dyes it again to another crazy color. This is the first time I've ever seen her do this to her hair, so I was shocked the first time I saw her with this hair.)

When people buy those beautiful wedding cakes with several tiers are they meant for just cutting and decoration or are they large enough to actually serve all your guests if you have about 100 people there? I heard that sometimes people will get a sheet cake as a more affordable option to a larger cake, is that what is usually done when serving cake?

I have seen so many WRONG answers about how to do something or what the correct etiquette for.....
Don't people read a freaken wedding book before doing these things?? Or is it just because their family does it that way, now they think it's proper or OK to do things a certain way??

Please help me decide which wording is best for the RSVP card for my wedding reception. Not sure which one makes more sense and looks better.

1) Dinner served and music by Trio Janitzio from 6:00pm-7:00pm
DJ and Dance from 7:00pm-12:00am

2) Dinner served from 6:00pm-7:00pm
Music by Trio Janitzio from 6:00pm-7:00pm
DJ and Dance from 7:00pm-12:00am

3) Dinner served from 6:00pm-7:00pm accompanied by Trio Janitzio
DJ and Dance from 7:00pm-12:00am

If you don't like either of these, what are your suggestions? Thanks!

I am not interested in wearing a tiara on my wedding day, although I think it looks beautiful on other brides, it's not really my taste. I would like some kind of floral/roses head piece that resembles the shape a tiara would give but I can't find anything like that on the internet. I heard that real flowers may not be a good idea because of discoloration, etc. Any alternative suggestions?

Well, I know I'm going to get a lot of hassel about this... but, when I get married I do not want children to be at the ceremony because, well they're children and tend to cause disturbances during the ceremony... I know I'm bad, but it's my day and I want everything to be perfect. So, is it rude to ask parents to not bring their children to the ceremony, say if they're 12 and under.. maybe 10. I think I might have a separate room for children to play in while the ceremony is in progress and then they can come out and dance and eat and have a great time during the reception. Is that acceptable? how should I approach parents about the situation?

My fiance and I have lived together for almost 4 years, we have 2 daughters together, and we are finally getting married in a month. He just wants to go golfing with his friends, and I want to just do a small little party at my house with the girls for our parties. I thought games, margaritas and hot wings sounded fun. BUT... all of our friends are complaining that they want to go to bars and get smashed. Should I tell them that if that's what they want to do then don't bother coming to the bachelor and bachelorette parties? If I do I'm afraid they will get mad at us, but they aren't respecting our decision to not want to go out. HELP!!!

I got not one, but THREE CUISINARTS for my bridal shower. Only one was from my actual registry, the others were purchased from an unknown source and did not include a gift receipt.
I just don't know what to do with the other two. I don't want to sell them on eBay or give them away, because there are things I could use on the registry... UGH! Why don't people actually look on the darn registry! That's what it's for!

Our wedding consists of the following: 80 guests, self-catered reception. Venue is paid for. Catering will be done by future MIL. I know of all the regular expenses such as flowers, decorations, invitations, attire, food, favors, etc. What are other smaller things I'm forgetting?

I was initally going to have a cocktail hour but then my future MIL who is paying for basically everything decided not to have it anymore. Have you guys been to a wedding with just a dinner and no appetizers?? I want to pay for it myself but I don't want her to think that I'm going against her. She says it's going to be very wasteful because people will not eat it all.

I am getting married in September in Vegas. We are flying in as are all of our guests (25 guests). We are not having a reception but instead will have a dinner the night before so everyone can meet each other before the wedding. Should we do favors? And if so, what are some ideas? My absolute No's are:
1. Anything "Vegas"-themed
2. Cd's of our favorite songs (NObody wants these)
3. Anything too heavy or bulky or breakable to pack in our luggage (or meltable - ie no chocolate)
4. Anything else that is lame or cheesey that people will throw out when they get home

thanks!

Have you ever gone into a bridal shop, and tried on a gown and it fit perfectly? Or did you have to have alterations? And if so, who was the designer.

I'm just curious.

we are looking for a minister to marry us at our informal wedding, at my moms home. we found a woman with a reasonable price. and she seemed very nice when i spoke with her on the phone. i don't think i have a problem with a woman marring us. actually, i like the nontraditional idea. it just seems alittle odd. i normally think of a man preforming the ceremony. what are your thoughts?

A very good friend and I were planning our weddings at the same time. I was going to marry the man I had been with for 3 years and had a child with. It would be my first (and I would hope only) wedding. She is marrying for a second time and had only been with him for 3 months before he asked.

Anyway my (now ex) finace and I were going to be married in January through a justice of the peace and then have a ceremony in the summer. He took off, yet to be heard from, a week before we had it planned. But every time I talked to her after that happened, all she wanted to talk about was how her planning was going. I found it to be very insensitive and rude knowing what just happened in my life. Am I wrong?

Long story short....

my fiance and I like the idea of having an evening reception- we have some space constraints that do not allow assigned seating for everyone (we will have seating for all- but a mix of long tables and cafe' tables)...I'm thinking the seating limitations will make a formal dinner- and even family style a little difficult and cumbersome.

I want my guests to be happy- and not hungry!

we were thinking a 20-30 minute appetizer/mimosas at the church prior to the wedding- it has a nice garden area we would be able to use for those purposes

then continue at the reception with heavy appetizers (enough to ensure each guest could have 10-15) We aren't talking chips and dip or just cheese and crackers (I've asked a similar question before- no- this isn't the cheez whiz wedding with overalls) :+)

no cash bar....

the only thing we are missing is formal entree's....

what do you think?

My friend's soon-to-be Mother in Law plans on wearing a white dress to her wedding. MIL is kind of a loon, and thinks the dress is an off white color, but it is clearly white... What makes it worse is that the Groom's sister was with Mom when she picked the dress out! Is that tabu? Bride does not know what to do here!
