I am not interested in wearing a tiara on my wedding day, although I think it looks beautiful on other brides, it's not really my taste. I would like some kind of floral/roses head piece that resembles the shape a tiara would give but I can't find anything like that on the internet. I heard that real flowers may not be a good idea because of discoloration, etc. Any alternative suggestions?

Sure just go to a florist and ask them to make you a flower arangement in place of a tiara, ask them to have them dried for you. Or you can go to a fabric or crafts store and buy the flowers and create one yourself.

Easy to make, or have a specialist at a floral place do it. Yes, use silk flowers. Basically you seem to be wanting a thin satin covered headband with sweetheart roses or some other small flowers which are just wired/glued on.
Another alternative is a full wreath of small flowers - my niece wore one for her wedding, and my bridesmaids did for our wedding.
Strangely, I had always wanted a wreath of flowers when I was planning what I wanted for the wedding, but when I tried on my gown, I asked for a 'crown of flowers', and they brought me a tiara with veil to try on. I had never even thought of having a tiara, but it looked lovely and matched the gown perfectly! Interesting how things turn out!!! You really don't know till you try something different....

Hat with flowers.
Headband with flowers.
Veil. NO tiara.
Buds in your hair throughout.(Ask beautician and take your flowers there.)
Real flowers are fine as long as you talk to a florist about which ones will hold up.
Whose taste is it to wear tiaras? Do you have to be a princess? Even Princesses wear head bands to the store! hats to the fair.
It is once in your life you can wear one and not look like the "tooth fairy". You won't be wearing a long satin dress every day either.
Wear one if you want to. Good luck.

Personally I think tiara's are tacky! They were meant for royalty to wear. I would suggest a simple updo and you add flowers (real or fake) that you could add to. Check out theknot.com under bridal hairstyles, these are actual hairstyles submitted by brides.

Go to the craft store and buy some good silks in the flowers that you wanted and probably a little ribbon. Then go to walmart and buy a headband and attach the flowers to cover it either with glue or sewing.

Probably cost about $5.

Please Please Please do not wear a tiara! That was actually # 3 on the Don't list on Style Weddings Glamour don't list last week!

There are so many options, a simple flower, a nice comb (combs sound aweful, but they look really good & are featured all over in bridal magazines) or play it simple. no one said you had to wear a head piece.

Whatever your choice, Congratulations on you wedding & may your marriage be your happily ever after.

I had a ringlet of fresh flowers for my wedding that included roses and mini callas with no discolorations...just remember not to get hairspray on them - that is what will give you problems. If you go to a reputable florist they can make you a 'headband' of flowers in your choice to match your bouquet with no problem. (I used the term headband as a point of reference only - they'll know what you mean).

Good Luck

instead of a tiara, i'm thinking about wearing a rhinestone headband similar to this one

if you're wanting something more of a floral look, i've seen another kind of headband, i think they called it a hair vine, that's silver with rhinestones shaped like flowers, and it wraps around your head like a normal headband would. i saw a pic of it on theknot.com a few months back, hopefully you can find it there. good luck!

You could buy a plain white or clear headband at the store (however think you wanted it to be) and go to a fabric or crafts store pick out some small fake flowers that are your colors and glue them on yourself.
