Please help me decide which wording is best for the RSVP card for my wedding reception. Not sure which one makes more sense and looks better.

1) Dinner served and music by Trio Janitzio from 6:00pm-7:00pm
DJ and Dance from 7:00pm-12:00am

2) Dinner served from 6:00pm-7:00pm
Music by Trio Janitzio from 6:00pm-7:00pm
DJ and Dance from 7:00pm-12:00am

3) Dinner served from 6:00pm-7:00pm accompanied by Trio Janitzio
DJ and Dance from 7:00pm-12:00am

If you don't like either of these, what are your suggestions? Thanks!

A trio is a group of three people singing together and playing acoustic guitar. The name of the particular trio for the dinner is Trio Janitzio. Trios play romantic, classic songs.

I like option 3, but I'd do it this way:

Dinner served at 6:00pm,
with entertainment by Trio Janitzio.
Dancing begins at 7:00pm.

But really, the person above is correct, the RSVP card probably isn't the proper place for this. Perhaps the program or menu?

Hmmm.... I am gonna go with #3.

Dinner served from 6:00pm-7:00pm; accompanied by Trio Janitzio
DJ and Dance from 7:00pm-12:00am

This isn't for the RSVP card, this would be the reception information which goes in the bottom left of the invitation, flush left.
Cocktails 5:00 p.m.
Dinner 6:00 p.m.; music by Trio Janitzio
Dance 7:00

- I think you need to leave more time after the dinner, for the program, then the cake cutting. The dance would probably strt at 8:30 or so....

You really should not mention "Trio Janitzio" or the DJ (especially the DJ). It should be worded simply like this:

Dinner will be served at 6:00pm

There is NO need to mention dancing because it is assumed (in most areas) that there will be dancing at your wedding. Mentioning the DJ sounds tacky- sorry, it really does. And like someone else said, unless the "Trio Janitzio" is some local famous person/group, it's not necessary to mention them in your RSVP card- people just don't care. It looks like you are trying to put too much information into your RSVP's- keep it simple.

But, IF you MUST mention that there will be dancing, word it like this:

Dinner will be served at 6:00pm
Dancing to follow.

And if you are a perky and fun couple, say something like:

Dinner will be served at 6:00pm
Bring your dancing shoes to cut the rug immediately following!

Good luck to you!

I guess I'm not sure why any of these would be on the RSVP card...Shouldn't they be on the invitation?

I think the typical RSVP card says something along the lines of:

"Mr_____________________
____Will joyfully attend
____Regretfully cannot attend"

The information about the whats & whens goes on the invitation. You could simply say, "Dinner and Dance Reception beginning at 7:00 pm"

If you want to lay out exactly what is happening exactly when, this sometimes falls into the Reception Card category...Another good place for this information is in the Program, although that is usually reserved for extended, religious ceremonies.

Not #1...it sounds like the Trio Janitzio is serving dinner while they sing. I like #3 the best. Have fun!

#3 sounds like 'trio janitzio' is going to be served on everyone's plates!

Dinner served at 6 o'clock with music by Trio Janitzio
DJ and Dance from 7 o'clock until midnight!

******edit******
this shouldnt be on your RSVP card! it should just be asking people to check if they are attending or not: this goes on the RECEPTION CARD..

Is it absolutely necessary that you have to name the group playing your dinner music? In all three of them I think thats what your problem is, that additional information is mucking up the flow.

If you feel you cant omit that information I would suggest this

Dinner hour begins at Six o'clock with Trio Janitzio
Dancing to immediately follow
