I am the maid of honor for my friend and I am starting to stress a little bit. She is having her wedding about 5 months before mine (it was suppose to be a year before!) and now things are getting tight with money. Is it ok to ask the other bridesmaids to chip in for the shower? I don't want to let her down but she does have very high standards and she is very well off in the financial department. I can't afford two weddings all by myself!Any suggestions?

I barely ever wear jewelry and we have to go shopping for engagement rings. I know style is different from one person to another. But what are the popular cuts/styles these days? What about platinum vs white gold for the band? Would love some feedback..:) thanks

We are getting married on Saturday. Our wedding reception is going until midnight. Are we required to stay to the very end, or can we leave early, like around 11-11:30, so we can start our private night back at the hotel? You only get one wedding night (at least, we are planning on this being the only one), so it would be nice to have enough energy to enjoy it.

I have pretty much chosen a coral color, my bridesmaids will have a coral colored dress with either white or apricot trim (most likely white) and my gown will be all white. But as for flowers and such I'm not really sure what colors will go best. My church is an ugly red so I need colors to help pull the distraction away from the floors.

I said I wouldn't do it...but today is the day that my best friend and I are going on my very first wedding dress shopping trip...and it's been planned for awhile (not to mention with both of our busy schedules, one of the only times we could get together to go) and my ring isn't back from being sized as of right now. I spoke with the jeweler and they said it should be back sometime today, but I don't like not knowing for sure.

My question is, would it be completely lame for me to still go to the bridal store and try on dresses if I don't get my ring back or should I cancel our plans now and reschedule?

Do you think it's important to love your wedding dress?

Without the long back story, for many reasons, I bought a dress that I don't love. Sometimes I feel like I'm trying to convince myself that I even like it. It's the closest dress I've found to what I want, but it's still so far off. I never thought I'd be the kind of girl who'd fret over a dress, but it's really starting to bother me. I WANT to LOVE my dress. I'd love to love THIS dress - and not have to go out and get another one. Do you think that's possible?

I'm getting married in 3 weeks time and we would like to get our parents a present for all their help. The only problem is that we can't decide on anything!!

Can anyone think of something original and lovely (yet not really really expensive) that we could get our parents?

My son is marrying a really lovely girl and we get on very well. They planned a small wedding, which has progressively got larger. And the problem is the bridesmaids. First there were none, now there are three. The bride's sister, her sister-in-law and her best friend. However, my two daughters have been left out aged 13 and 16 at the time of the wedding. They are devastated. My son is my daughter's godfather and their egal guardian in our will. I don't want to make a fuss, we've tried to gently say we would pay for the dresses. My son sees my point - none of our family are involved in the wedding, even though he is himself paying for it - my new daughter-in-law has a contribution from her father, but my son is footing the bill. I We have offered to help financially and intend to to do so.
How do we ask tactfully that the groom's sisters be included in the wedding party, without causing any upset?

I'm 19 and my boyfriend and I have been together for 6 months and have grown very close to each other. Marriage pops up in our conversation quite frequently and I have a feeling that he'll propose to me sometime next year. How soon is too soon to get married?

A lot of the people in mine & my future hubby's family are picture crazy ~ it's way too long to go into here, but basically, we are considering including a *polite* request in the invitation to leave the cameras at home along with a note that we will be happy to send wedding photos to anyone who is interested.
Is this rude? Has anyone ever heard of this being done before? We are willing to let our parents have cameras, but otherwise we really don't want our ceromony to be interrupted w/non-stop camera flash, etc.
On one hand, we don't want to hurt feelings, but on the other hand, we both feel it is rude & disruptive to constantly take photos of an event ~rather than just enjoy it. Furthermore, we want to have a good time, not pose for tons of photos when we will already be paying a professional to do that.

We have been together for 3 years this year, and he has even bought me a beautiful ring, but he has not proposed. He is financially stable, and has his own place. We've been on trips together, and love eachother very much.... we even talk about children/marriage/the future!
He just recently told me he wanted to buy a house when his rent was up!..... so........

where is the ring?

This has caused a bit of heartache for me...esp since all of my friends around us have gotten married/engaged.

Any ideas on at least getting this out of my head?

In your opinion, is it better to have both your and your significant others' parents in your wedding or not have any of them in there at all? Of course they should be there, but where? No matter what you think, why or why not? Thanks!

Im very unhappy to say that three people slipped up in 3 days and Im now positive that my bridal shower is next weekend. The first and the second comments they attempted to cover up but then the last comment was straight out "im going to your bridal shower next weekend"
Do I tell my bridal party and mom that I know or let them think they surprised me. I really wanted to be surprised and now Im kinda bummed and I don't want to upset my bridal party Im sure they have been working so hard to keep it a secret and get everything together to surprise me. I don't know if I should tell them I hate the idea of making comments like I don't know whats up I feel like a lier

My sister is getting married. I'm in charge of finding the invitations. I saw invitations in a magazine [probably about a year or two ago] with flowers in them. As in you open them up and there were pedals in them. I loved the idea and I'm trying to find that. Does anyone know? It's okay if you don't, I would still like any of your suggestions on gorgeous wedding invites! Thanks!!
