From my understanding the maid of honor is supposed to plan (and/or throw) one of the bridal showers and the bachelorette party.

Ask the bride and groom!
Though there are lists out there, does not mean that the bride wants you to follow those lists of duties.
She may just want you to stand beside her and assist her on her day and before she walks down the aisle.
