1. Prioritize the top 3 things you want for your wedding day. For example if you've always dreamed of a wedding in a hotel ballroom than make that your priority. You should have what you've always dreamed of. Just understand with your budget you may spend Little more money on these items. But this will take away from other budgeted items like flowers etc.
2. Do research on sites like the knot.com , brides.com, marthastewartweddings.com. Cut out pictures of things you like, colors, flowers, cakes, etc. and keep them in a binder. This will help you narrow down you choices and help you figure out what your personal style is.
3. Details, Details, Details - What makes a wedding look designer/expensive is the smaller details. Pick a theme - it doesn't have to be crazy it can be just a color theme or maybe a theme that will complement your color theme. For example using a Monogram on things such as the favors, the cake, etc. This could be anything. A flower detail, round objects, square objects, crystals, etc. This will give you a tied in effect and everything will have a purpose and not look haphazard. If you look at celebrity weddings they all have some type of theme!
4. Think out of the box - sometimes thinking out of the box will lend you some great bargains. For example - purchasing a wedding gown from Target or getting a gown that is considered a prom gown or bridesmaid gown. With some of them all you have to do is add a veil and you would never know the difference and they cost alot cheaper than a regular gown.
5. Take on some wedding projects yourself like doing your favors or printing your programs or invitations. But don't be afraid to outsource these things to someone if you can't handle the project. Is more cost effective to have your invitation printed by a company or for you to do them yourself? After you purchase the envelopes, paperstock, plus shipping, ink, etc. would you be paying the same amount of money if you had them professionally printed?
6. Last tip- Keep It Simple! Simplistic designs are usually the most beautiful.
Good Luck with your planning!

The only way to have a platinum wedding like the TV show is to spend the money and just do it. I am currently in the process of planning my wedding and I am very fortunate. I have a $600,000 budget. But for someone looking to spend less it would be ideal to use stores such as Hobby Lobby, and nowandforever.com. These places offer a HUGE variety of wedding stuff from flowers to decorations to bulk invitations. One idea for place settings is to buy plates that you would want to keep yourself. After the ceremony, you could keep the place settings and thus this purchase would be a multi-use one. There are soo many things that you can do to decrease the cost of your wedding. Be open minded and creative, that's the best advice I can give you.

There is a lot of ways to do this. One get friends and family to help with set up and running around. this can cut out wedding planner... Two, all the things you see you can do your self. Come up with a idea for center pieces but going to your local arts and crafts store. Go in and have fun and make them your self. it will cost so so much less. Three, flowers u can always go to where they sell wholesale followers for cheaper . Four, location is huge and to get a great spot that people will remember go and pick a places that maybe you wouldn't have thought of most places that aren't used by many will be the best deal... i mean there is so many ways to have the wedding of your dreams

Sure you can. For example flowers don't have to cost 100,000 dollars. Find a discount florist who specializes in and only does weddings. They are out there, you just have to find them by word of mouth. You'll have to spend some money in some places but you can cut back in others. Ex. if you hire a band, cut back on the limos. You won't be in them for long anyway. I don't know if you can do it on a very small budget, but do what you can within your budget to make it the the way you like it.
