They've been living together for several years, have a lovely home and have decided to get wed. The invitations have gone out - but no mention of gifts etc. Wedding presents used to be bought for couples to start their home off - toaster, dinner service, sheets etc. Whats the procedure if the home is complete.

My daughter is the flower girl in the wedding, but he states he doesn't think I should be at the rehersal. I've also been told I'll be sitting with the other guest and not with family. I am the groom's mother. Up until last month, he lived with me all of his life. Am I wrong in being upset????

If you have been married before but your fiance hasn't and you are going to have a big wedding, would you wear white and not care what people may say or not. I know it's tradition not to but, would it be horrible to wear white.

On the wedding invitation, do you state the address of the church, or just the church name and city (everything will be held in a large city)? As well, for the reception, which is to be held at a different location later on in the day, how would I word this, and would I put the name of the location and address, or just the city where the location is at?

Here is what our invitations say so far:

Together with their families
Miss. X
and
Mr. Y
request the honour of your presence
at their marriage
Saturday the twenty-first of _____
Two thousand and ______
at ___o'clock in the afternoon
_____________United Church
City, Saskatchewan

Reception to follow
__________Hotel
city, Saskatchewan

My wedding is on Aug 4th,07. I have registered at Bed Bath and Beyond. The truth is that we need cash more than anything else...we already have all the stuff we need. Should I delete my registry and hope that people will give money as a gift?? I don't want to mention anything to anyone so they don't feel obligated to bring anything. Is the assumption when they're no registries that the guests will provide a monetary gift??? please give your opinions...thanks so much.

it's not a plain band and thats what I wanted it has vertical lines all on the top front of the ring (the lines kinda look like the lines you see on coins but these are these are the length of the ring.
My question is do jewelers or can they melt down my ring and re shape it? or maybe just file down lines??? and how long is the process if it's done on site?

I believe that a bride should never be outshone on her wedding day. The three girls I have as my attendants are all very pretty. They are all brunettes, although two are pale with medium brown hair and one is Italian. I want them to look nice, but I want them to be made much less attractive so that I really stand out. What is a good way of doing this? Should I choose an unflattering dress, or pick a way of doing their hair that is not the cutest, any ideas?

I have never bought a wedding gift before and I am actually accompanying her uncle. They have a 6 month old baby and live in a home which they have already bought. She is 30 yrs old and her and the fiance have lived together since 13 yrs ago. I am not close to her but feel like I should buy a gift.
Her uncle never includes me in the gift thing even though my name was on the inviatation. He always writes a check. I feel sort of weird about this.
What should I do?

Several years ago, I picked out my engagement ring. I loved the setting. But when I broke up with the guy, I gave the ring back. (Because I felt it was the right thing to do, even though he told me to keep it). But I find myself thinking about the ring from time to time. The store no longer carries it, or the records, since it's been 10 years, or so. Depending on the price, I'd like to buy my own version... even if it's with a Ruby instead of a diamond.... or something like that.

It was a gold band, wth a sort of zigzag design. It was not big or gawdy. It had a center stone and then two or three smaller stones on each side where the zigzag was. It was very feminine and dainty, and I got tons of compliments on it. I never got any such compliments on any other ring. It also had a matching wedding band that would fit with the engagement ring.

I've searched the internet, and came up with nothing. Does anyone know of any really good resources to find this ring?
