Mine is just a white gold squared off band with 15 princess cut diamonds straight across. Simple yet very elegant next to my 1 ct Emerald cut diamond, with the 4 small circle diamonds. Its about $800.00.

I have a larger stone on my engagement ring so I needed a wedding band that curved a little. The straight bands sat too far away from the band on my engagement ring. I found there weren't too many designs that curved.

I got a chevron band.

Instead of the traditional wedding band, you could get a wrap or a solitaire enhancer if you want. Usually a person gets that later on for an anniversary but you don't have to. However that only works on plain solitaire rings.

One important thing is the diamond you got. My husband is very into gemstones and wanted a near perfect stone. Many of the wedding bands (since its smaller stones) use lower quality diamonds and when you put it right next to a gorgeous diamond, they look really yellow. The same is in reverse. It you got a large large diamond, but it was rather yellowish--if you get nicer diamonds on the wedding band it will make the engagement ring look worse.

My mother just got a 2mm platinum that she had melded to the side of her diamond. It was a bit under $100.

My husband got a plain gold band 4mm for about $200--though he could have gotten a 5mm for much cheaper. Apparently 5 or 6mm is the more common size. However for daily wear he ordered a lot of cheap rings off the internet--roughly $5 each rings. Now he is upgrading to a sterling silver one for $20. Thats what he wears each day so that if something happens to it or he loses it, he didn't lose the real ring.

My aunt however has an absolutely huge set. It goes over the top and bottom of her engagement ring (well which was really her 10 yr anniversary ring) and the whole set costs more like $15,000. But it is huge. Covers most of her finger.
In general though, you can get a wedding ring in any price range you possibly want. I'd get it the same metal as the engagement ring though--yellow, white gold or platinum.

I got mine on sale in the estate section of a local jewelry store for $100. Its white gold with about 1/4ct of diamonds in a row across the top. The date engraved on the inside is April of '51 so its pretty old. I wanted an antique wedding band to go with my antique engagement ring, so it worked out perfectly. The rings are pretty close in time period, so they look good together. My engagment ring is a little older. Its from the late 30's or early 40's. When I saw my wedding band, even though I still have a year until my wedding, I went ahead and got it, because it was a one of a kind antique and I didn't know how long it would be there.

We bought plain white gold "comfort fit" bands. (Ask to compare at the jeweler and you'll see why everyone should have the comfort fit.) His is a size 12.5 and 8mm that cost about $400. Mine is a size 6 and 6mm that cost about $350. (We had the great luck to buy when gold was at an all time high.) We then had the rings carved with roses and diamonds from my grandmother's wedding band were set into each. Mine was also cut to fit snugly against the engagement ring. The additional work was another $800.

My husband bought my wedding band. It's a narrow yellow gold band, with a kind of interesting 'flat' surface, with three small diamonds. It matches the engagement ring he chose, which has a solitaire, and smaller shoulder stones - same size as those on the wedding band. The set was just over 1k. - and he chose really well - I've always loved it!

I just got mine the other day..so exciting! It's platinum (to match my engagement ring) with 10 small round diamonds along the top. It makes the whole ensamble very sparkly! The band was $650, at Jareds.

My fiance's band is white gold, with some diamond cut banding along the top and bottom. His was $500 at Jareds. We didn't have them engraved however.

Just the band alone is Platinum with 5 Ideal Cut Diamonds...it was about $3500....and it matches the Solitare Engagement ring that is an Ideal Cut 1 Carat Diamond that was $2900.....My husband picked them both out...he has great taste...I learned later that the ideal cut is the best cut for clarity you can buy.
Congratulations and Good Luck !!!!

My wife actually bought 2 that she wears with the engagement ring sandwiched in between. She bought 2 channel set diamond rings. Rings may just be 3mm thick so diamonds are not too large.
