I do not want them to be my bridesmaids but They all have children ( boys) around the age of 2 , is this too young to be a page boy ? what would this entail ?

That should be fine...I am sure you know the boys well enough to know if they could handle it. Pages don't have too much to do, so it might not be quite as daunting as, say, a flowergirl's role. I think that having an all-child wedding party is really sweet-and nostalgic...I bet it will be wonderful!
And I am sure your friends would be honored that you would want their children in your wedding!

You said they all have "boys"--so would that be like 6 page boys? I think that is too many. I even think 3 might be too many. And yes 2 is too young--unless there is an older sibling. 2 yos get scared and won't walk down the aisle--are often screaming about seeing so many people they don't know--and may just refuse to do it at all. By the age of 4 they are much better. They can walk down the aisle, perform the duties and go back to their mothers.

If you don't want adult bridesmaids--your friends will probably be happy about it. I know that sounds weird but they are all married and mothers. They don't have the desire to spend money on a dress they will only wear once, nor the time to devote to a bride who may have high expectations. Often brides don't realize that the friend can't leave her children to go spend hours dress shopping, or looking at reception halls--like they could when they were single.

I would consider asking your friends to do something more "day of" like being in charge of the guest book.

A page boy can entail as much or as little as you want--but usually that is a lot for "around 2". And multiple lil boys can be a lot on a wedding. I doubt your friends will feel as left out as you imagine if you don't ask their kids.

A two year old child should NOT be a ring bearer or a page. A page carries the Bride's train "down the aisle." A two year child is just too young to do this, their attention span is about thirty seconds. It has been my professional experience to see children that young (two or three or four years old) cry . . refuse to walk down the aisle . . hide . . and scream.

What don't you have the little boys help give out bubbles or little bags of candy or "rice" or something simple like that.

Page boys are so cute around that age and assuming they can toddle well then there is no reason whatsoever that they cant participate at your wedding, its also a nice gesture to your friends. Remember though that even though you are not keen on having bridesmaids I would recommend having at least a bestmaid as you need someone adult to sign your register once you are married as they are your witness (as would be your future hubby's bestman) plus its always good to have a bit of support on your big day from a best pal!

Well thats upto you. I am also getting married i am having adult bridesmaids as we dont having many young children around us. But as long as you are happy with this and they can walk which i asume they can by there age then there would be nothing wrong with it. Thats a good idea as there is a compramise instead of saying no to your friend or her children. Good luck and congrats.

I'm with you... also getting married next year, and i ain;t having any adult bridesmaids...

Instead i am using important people to me, and having their children as bridesmaids, mini ushers and flower girls..

I think it looks alot more sweeter when you see little children at the wedding, opposed to this old adults all dolled up! lol.

We have you my 19yr old sister as maid of honour and 22year old best man and usher... to actually help us out on the day...!!

The page boy can carry the rings on a ring cushion..

The flowergirls and bridesmaids can have little bags of petals to scatter before you walk down the aisle...

I don't think that is too young, my nephew is being my page boy and he will be three years old when we get married. Although, a little tip, if he is into Spiderman, or any super hero, get him a little costume to wear in the evening, this will keep his mind occupied and he will not get too bored during the vows if he knows something good is coming! My friend did the same at her wedding and it worked a treat! x

It's your day but give careful thought to having such young children, without an adult to keep an eye on them.I don't want to be a wet blanket but I think that they could disrupt the gtreatest day of your life.

I'd say no. Little kids are very unpredictable, especially 2 year olds. Just invite the Moms to come as guests. They'd probably like the break.

My friend was told that if she wanted to hire a traditional suit for her little page boy, the child would have to be out of nappies. Best to bear this in mind - unless of course you're making your own outfits.
