HOW CAN I SMOOTH THIS OVER? i want to let her know one way or another this will work out. I don't want them angry over this. I just don't know how to resolve this

A bit of history first: Bought a house in May when I had a good job. Married in August; VERY small wedding. (siblings, parents & grandparents at a house). One week after my wedding, I lost my job unexpectedly. My husband is self employed and struggling. To be honest, it is/was very stressful and even now we struggle to pay bills and have food. (and we are a lot of debt) Thank you notes have been on my mind, but choice between food and bills & sending notes...well, food and bills have won out. I am amazed we still have a house and our marriage has lasted. :(
Anyways, now my Aunts & Uncles (who weren't at the wedding) are making snide remarks about not receiving a thank you note for their gift and why we didn't put any announcement in the paper about being married. I haven't seen these people in over 10 years and I do not know if they realize how bad it is for us financially.
Should I still send a thank you note, and borrow money for the costs? (after all this time)

Does the best man just announce this is the last dance or something? Then couple dances and takes off? Would that be rude, or do they hang around and thank everybody again before they leave?

Would be interested to hear how you did / or are planning to do it. And thanks!

What is the correct way for the wedding party to come into and leave the church during a formal wedding. There are step-parents and step grandparents involved. The father of the bride is walking her down the isle and her mother has remarried also. Just want to make foresure that everyone gets down the isle in the proper order! This seems to be causing alot of grief for some family members.

myself & my husband promised our only daughter when she got engaged 1 year ago that we would pay for the wedding. we have been making deposits as required. but, now 2 months before my husband lost his job ,we may have to move to avoid losing our home since we now have no income and are living on a small bank account until he can find work. I am disabled and was just approved for benifits late march 2007.the way ssa is so slow in everything I can't depend on recieving 2 years backpay anytime soon. we explained to the both of them our situation and they don't understand why we don't have money set aside for them. I feel terrible about this. we promised them but cant do it now unless we know my husband can find another job fast . otherwise the little bit we have we need for food, medicines, other bills ect..
I am going out of my mind trying to think of solutions to this.
they suggested us taking a loan but with no income now how can we repay this? we have no credit cards, .what can I say

My sister-in-law got pregnant and has decided to get married. Both my sister-in-law and her soon-to-be husband will be living with her parents. What would you give as a wedding gift? The wedding is next Saturday. She's hispanic but doesn't speak Spanish (mentioning only if needed as a hint or clue). Please only serious answers. Thank you.

My distant cousin is getting married, I don't even know her. I was not invited, but my mom was. Mom wants to bring me as her guest. I said absolutely not. Because I am a relative, I should not go unless I was invited. I feel this would be embarassing for the bride & groom. They would feel funny for having not invited me in the first place. I'm not at all mad that I wasn't invited, but my mom thinks I'm wrong for not going as her guest. Do you think I should go as a guest?

I am currently trying to plan my wedding and we both really liked Silver for the color of the wedding but a lot of people are telling me that Silver is used for 25th Anniversaries only and that I should choose another color. I thought about using Champagne but I cannot get Silver out of my mind. Please give me your opinions. Thanks!

After how many years of being together should a couple get engaged. Is there a cut-off time? If you haven't been engaged after dating for a certain amount of time, is it never going to happen? I'm talking about mature people over the age of 23/24, educated, full-time jobs, etc.

I am the single parent of a son who is getting married. I know that I am responsible for paying for the rehearsal dinner but the bride wants it to become a party for all of their friends. She is inviting every body she knows. I don't mind paying for a few extra people but not for her entire family and friends.

Who is technically supposed to be invited to the dinner?

Also, is there anything else that I should be financially responsible for?

Thanks from a very stressed parent.

My hubby and I have a wedding to go to on Saturday. The ceremony is in a church at 2pm with the reception following at 3pm (at a different location). I am also in my ninth month of pregnancy and don't have a lot of options in my closet, and really don't want to have to buy anything new. :) I have a knee length, cotton, flower print dress...would that be appropriate? Or I also have a cute black and white print skirt, but the only top I have to go with it right now is black. Anything you can suggest would be very much appreciated!! Thanks!

I'm getting married in May and I wanted to include a ceremony with unity candles. However, I don't want tradition "white/ivory" candles. My colors are black and red. Is it ok to use different color candles? I would love to use a 1 black candle and 2 red. Is that allowed? Would that change the meaning of a unity candle?

If a wedding is the bride and groom's day, why are there so many who think that the couple should cater to the guests' wants?
Why should they have to play music that all of their guests know are not their style?
Aren't the guests there to celebrate the happiness the couple has brought to each others' lives?

I have been engaged since Sep 2004 and my partner and I had set a date for January 2008. I thought that was such a long time away, now it is coming soon! However, my partner has thrown a bombshell at me and said he doesn't want to get married in January - and hasn't given me another date.

Should I accept this and wait until he is "ready"? He hasn't given me a new date, and said I should be happy just being engaged and that there is no rush.

I feel like moving on if he can't give me a reason or a new date for the future!

I'm 24, he is 30. I don't want to have a 10 year engagement anniversary!

I am really interested to know if anybody has had a really unusual or wacky kinda wedding. I have the idea to have an Angelic themed wedding with all my bridesmaids in totally different coloured dresses. All different styles with wings to look like fairies or angels etc. I myself wanted to have a blue wedding gown as it's my favourite colour and also i was looking at prom dresses on a site called tjformal.com. Might be a bit difficult to get a blue veil but i'm sure i'd work out something. Let me know what ou think or what you did. I'm interested.

My fiance and I have really gotten into the idea of a friday wedding, mainly b/c the space for the reception that we love is only available fridays...
However - I am finding that no churches are available Friday evenings for wedding? I assume this is b/c of rehersals for Saturday weddings. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am looking for a church in new york city...
