We used navy blue and silver for an April wedding and the combination was lovely! The BMs wore navy blue dresses with silver accessories, and the GMs and my father wore black tuxes with silver vests.
My dress had silver beading at the bust and waist. (This was my dress) http://www.houseofbrides.com/product.php?productid=2244&cat=458&page=2# ) and I wore silver shoes and carried a silver bag.
Our favors were silver tins tied with blue ribbons, and we used a lot of silver accents everywhere. The combination was beautiful and there was absolutely nothing inappropriate or anniversary-like at all.

A little piece of advice since you're already in overthink mode. It is your day to do and have what you want. Nobody elses. Silver would be beautiful. Go with some beautiful flowers that pop in front of the dresses. It will be perfect. Go over to weddingchannel.com and get into the message boards. I learned alot while planning my wedding last year. Once piece of advice.....don't sweat the small stuff. It's 1 day. If you don't want everybody and their mothers opinion, do what I did, say nothing and pretend it's all a big surprise.

Silver is the only color i'd settle for... even in wedding bands... I hate gold.. i don't like it at all...
But the wedding itself, yes it's a beautiful color. And you should be doing what YOU want, not what others think is acceptable...
but like Say, White Lillies with Silver bands in it or around it or however that works, and the green of the plants is beautiful...
or you could add a rose red to it, like a darker-ish red for some roses to that.. and beauty it will be ;o)
hope it helped

Use exactly the color that you want. The silver for 25th anniversary refers to giving something made of silver; it has nothing to do with decorating in that color. Do they think that you can't have silver anywhere in your house until your 25th anniversary too?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the color silver for your wedding. I did a beautiful arrangement for our Brides in March that had silver wire in swirls and wrap around all the roses. Along with matching beads in the Brides handle of their bouquets. In pictures the wire was beautiful and very artistic. Good Luck

I just helped a Bride and Groom plan a wedding that used this theme . . crystals and silver. We added touches of turquoise and black where needed. The Bride wore a crystal and silver shawl with her cream colored gown and the Groom wore a charcoal suit with a black and silver striped tie . . it was stunning! Silver is a great color - don't let people tell you what you should do for YOUR wedding.
One suggestion though - try and pair it with a darker color for an accent - otherwise everything will either be too blinding or look dingy.
Good luck with all your planning!

Use whatever color or colors you like. I had a friend that did purple, black, and silver and everything looked great! I wouldn't worry about it being a 25Th anniversary color.
