i have four best friends. seriously. i do. i have known them all for an equal length of time, and they have all been their for me in one way or another, and i love them all like sisters! i feel really really bad picking favorites for something like this because i really care about them all equally. would it be weird to have them all as maids of honor and then add a little side note that says "i couldnt pick just one because i love them all"? or is there another title i could give the others that was like...equivalent to maid of honor but not maid of honor? i really dont care about tradition, im already surprising people with my choices of wedding dresses and invitations (they love them, they just arent what they were expecting...yes, they do love them, my mom gets this certain look in her eye when she sees something she likes, and she got it when she saw me in one of the dresses). im just new to planning weddings and am not sure what to think on this one....

I'm an only girl with four brothers and my fiance has 3 brothers I would LOVE to have them all as groomsmen but i think 7 is too many(besides there aren't enough girls to match). I was thinking of having my 4 brothers be ushers but i don't want them to feel less important for not standing up there is there anything else that would make them feel special?! ages are 22, 17, 15, 13 if that helps...

I just found out that my step-son and his girlfriend are about to have a baby. They had a shotgun wedding today, and I didn't even get a chance to participate. I don't know how to do a baby shower. And I sure don't know how to be a Grandma. Any advice is most welcomed.

I am having a Black-Tie wedding and it's going to be held in an *EXTREMELY* nice hotel (Think Plaza Hotel of NYC). Most everyone going owns a tuxedo, but we are not snobby people (most of us graduated from the University of Florida, lol) so I don't want "waltz-y" ballroom music the whole time, yet I think I'd feel uncomfortable playing songs like "Dirrty" by Christina Aguleria.

***By the way, this music is for the reception. The ceremony music is already picked***

Thanks for ANY suggestions!

I'm getting married this October. My parents divorced when I was 5, and my relationship with my dad has not been really close. We like a lot of the same music, and when he would pick me up or drop me off on Sunday, he would always play the Doobie Brothers. While I know there aren't a lot of popular slow songs by them, are there any songs of the rock genre that would be a good one for a father/daughter dance? I want to compile a list and talk to my dad about it. Please note the artist with the song title. Thank you!

We were married by the Justice Of the Peace and for our 5th anniversary we want to renew our vows in the church that we have recently became members of. My question is our anniversary is March 17, and to do it on a weekend we will have to do it on March 14, does it matter? Do you have to renew your vows on your actually anniversary or can you do it just a few days before? When we got married the only people that were there were our parents, and we want to have a bigger wedding with all of our family and friends there.

9/10 people seem to believe that if birds eat rice it will cause them to choke or explode.

How did this myth get started?

My finace will let me pick any ring I want, no matter the cost, but I was thinking of a Claddagh ring because the symbolism is so romantic.

I am not sure if I want a classic ring that is only gold, or one where the the heart is a diamond. I like the idea of a diamond only because 1) it seems more like a wedding ring, and 2) a diamond is the strongest natural mineral, which is also very symbolic.

However, the plain gold bands are more traditional and a little more classic and basic (I like simple). So...gold, diamond, or maybe something else entirely like a huge rock from Tiffanys?

I am meeting my officiant next week, 2 days before wedding. Should I warn him I have a tattoo or just let him see it at the ceremony? It is an arm band. The church we attend has a great pastor but always looks at my tattoo in a way that I feel judged. I don't want to feel this way on my day. Am I thinking about this too much, or should I say something?

I have four bridesmaids, and that's pretty well set. He's got six guys, including two brothers, and he says he can't imagine cutting any of them. Sending them to be ushers isn't an option, we both have close friends that we also want involved, and I don't have other close female friends or relatives I'd want to join in without it seeming to be a stretch.
Any suggestions on how to make the numbers work, without looking too lopsided, or making it look like a popularity contest? Do we need to just suck it up and make cuts?

I dont know how to tell my bridesmaid how much the dress is going to cost before going with her to be sized and her finding out at the checkout. She is very flighty and unorganized and is doing this all last minute. I hate to let her find out when we go to the salon. What do I say??

The TV wouldn't be the only thing on the registry of course. All the usual suspects would definately be well represented.

My boyfriend and I are engaged and have begun preparation for the wedding. It is planned for just more then a year away. We’ve decided on an evening event and the reception is indoors. I realize this is some time from now, but we have already encountered a substantial issue. We are from exceedingly large families, both with very young children. We have differing opinions in regard to their attendance at a formal evening wedding, except for the wedding party. I am not in favor of including younger children (approximately from the age 10 and under). He wishes to allow parents the option. Here’s some insight: He is the remaining family member to marry. Furthermore, he is an only child. It is also customary for his family to involve everyone at all family member’s weddings. Besides suggesting a time change, as we are adamant about that, how can we come to a compromise?

I am a single mom to a 6 year old boy, and I will be getting married in March of 2008. My fiance and I once found on-line invitations that were from a child invition the guests to the wedding, and we cannot find it again. It was something along the lines of "My mom met this really great guy, and we really love him, so we want you to come to their wedding!!"

Does anyone know who carries these, or at least the wording for them?

He says he does not like her.
She and I were at his house last winter and my boyfriends daughter believed my friend, who is getting married was messing with her husband.
I have known her for years and we were together the whole evening and she was not messing around with her husband.
The daughter also accused me of thinking my boyfriend was cheating with another woman. The daughter did not know this womans brother was a patient in the hospital where I work and we chit chatted every day and I never thought anything about her. I took care of him and discharged him to home.
The daughter is a trouble maker and causes trouble all the time. She is 26 yrs old and no body is interested in her hillbilly husband. She managed to get my boyfriend in a fight with his best friend of the last 15 yrs. He was his totally best friend and she said he hit on her. She is such a skank.
Should I just forget he doesnt want to go to the wedding or what>

I was given a purity ring by my parents in a ceremony, and I would really like to incorporate something into my wedding ceremony about my fulfilling my commitment to my parents, my friends, my husband, and to God. Any creative ideas?? I'm not sure if I should give the ring to my husband to symbolize that i'm now his or to my father to symbolize a fulfilled promise. or what? I'm open to any good suggestions!
