I married mine, we waited through college though to just make sure that we were the right ones for each other and to mature more. But we've been married over 8 years. We are the only ones who mrried from our class that are still together, it was sad at our 10 year to hear about so many divorces. I do really recommend waiting and dating after gradutaion for a good while. I really dont think my husband and I would have made it if we didnt separately grow up first then get married.

I think it all depends on the reasons for marriage. Often the high school sweetheart is more of an infatuation, new and exciting. That fades in time when the realities of marriage hit. Young people have boundless wells of hope, and believe :love conquers all". The truth is, it doesn't except in Hollywood movies and fairy tales.
Unfortunately, at this age, a person has a LOT more growing to do as a person. I believe the better course, as hard as it might be, is to meet the family....and Really get to know them. No-one knows their children better than they, and if there is an adversarial relationship with either side in-laws marriage is almost certain to fail. Statistics also show marriages at an early age are rarely successfully in the long term. That said, there are exceptions to every rule. Good Luck.

I had a daughter by my high school love- we made plans to be together forrever (i was a kid so i really thought it would work). Instead, we grew apart simply because we grew up. I am glad i didnt marry him- we were way too young and it would not have worked out. You learn so much between high school and the end of college that it is best to wait and see if you are still compatible after that point.
Not saying it wont work, but times change and so do people. What you are in love with now might not be what you are in love with 5 years from now.

Me and my high school sweetheart are getting married soon. We have been together for six years now and people always said that we would get tired of each other because we hang out almost every day. If anything we have grown closer and we don't argue or fight at all.

My husband and I have been together since our junior year in high school. We have been married for 6 years and have 3 beautiful little boys. We have a very strong relationship, and I really feel like nothing could ever come between us. Our love grows stronger with each morning that we are blessed to wake to. The secret to a successful marriage is trust. If you trust in your spouse, yourself, and your love for one another, you love will grow like weeds.

I did not, but one of my best friends did. They started dating his senior, her junior year. They got married 3 years ago and have two beautiful daughters. They have been together for 10 years. It can work as long as you love each other and are ready to make that commitment.
