I've been reading up on the differences. What I'm really wondering is if someone off the street with no jeweling experience can tell the difference between a diamond and moissanite?? such as color, clarity, etc.

I am planning my second wedding, and while I dont' want the big hullaballoo like my first marriage, I would like an intimate backyard wedding to celebrate finally finding my true love.
We have no budget, but we are very creative and talented artists who can make/do just about anything. My parents have a beautiful property, and I can see saving some money for a tent and tables.
I would like some ideas (details please) on decorations and food for perhaps 50 or so people. I'm not doing the "white thing". I am thinking buying candles and cheap glass containers in bulk, and alot of paper lanterns when I can find them cheap. White string lights, etc. Flowers are going to be a problem, I'm thinking about tissue paper flower garlands, fabric, that type of thing. Any ideas about color themes, flowers, linens, other cheap/bulk items that make nice decorations, and a way to cut the cost of food would be great! I think the wedding will be late summer or fall.

One of my bridesmaids (which will be my future sister-in-law) is being very hateful to me. She gets under my skin because she is so rude. She is pregnant and I was going to be nice and revolve half of my bachelorette evening around her so she could be included. The way she is acting towards me she doesn't deserve me going out of my way for her. What should I do/say about this situation?

I was looking for brown tuxes and all the chain type stores (like after hours) don't seem to carry them... Anyone know or heard of dark brown tuxes being around still? I know they had them in the 70s!! Thanks!!!

I'm trying to think of unique but cheap ideas for centerpieces at the wedding reception. I thought about maybe a fountain or misting fountain. My colors are blue and white, with red as an accent color.

I thought this was a nice fountain, but it's not in my colors:

This is my color, but not a very cool looking design:

If you know any other places to look for these things or have any other creative ideas, please let me know! I haven't completely ruled out flowers - I will still use some, but I'm trying to cut costs and flowers can be pricey! Thanks for your ideas and suggestions!

As stated in a previous question I don't have a good relationship with my dad. I already have my mind made that I do not want to have the Father Daughter dance, so I need suggestions on how to avoid it. I know I can tell the DJ but that might not stop my dad from cutting in. Suggestions?

My sister is getting married in a few weeks and I just got the invitation in the mail. I was not invited with a guest. I am not currently seeing anyone, but still I think that since I am in the immediate family, I should have been offered the opportunity to bring a date.

Hello! My fiance and I want to have a small wedding, as in just parents, grandparents and siblings present at the church and then dinner and drinks with those people afterwards. I'm Catholic and he's Presbyterian and he wants to get married in a Presbyterian or non-demoniational church or chapel. Since I'm Catholic, is that still doable? Have any of you ever had a small wedding in a Church. We do not want to get married at City Hall or anything like that. How did the small wedding treat you? I have a huge family and although I would love to have them there, it will cost a lot more money and my parents can't really afford it. How did your family react to you having a small wedding? What was the experience like? Do you have any recommendations for us as we plan our wedding? Any demonation advice - me being Catholic and him Presbyterian. Yes, we will go to the Catholic classes and I do want a Catholic priest at our wedding. Sorry this is so long!!

I don't have that Father/Daughter relationship with my dad. As a matter of fact, I really don't have any relationship with him. When my financee called to get his blessing he left my dad a message requesting a return call. My dad waited a month to call me- not my financee- back. He was drunk and told me he wanted to make him "sweat it out", make him think about it first, so now he is saying its ok, he'll allow it. My dad hasn't given my financee a chance, if he took the time to get to know him he would see how wonderful he is. I was upset by this call and wonder if I should not let him give me away. Am I being to harsh?

hi, my girlfriend is on vacation, and i am planning on proposing to her the day she returns, but unfortunately i don't know her ring size. i don't want to dish out big bucks, and have to end up returning/exchanging the product. anyone have any suggestions on how i can figure out her ring size, maybe somehow trick her into telling me? it has to be very secretive. btw the only means for me to contact her is through email, aim, or phone.

We are having an outside wedding at a beautiful mansion with a lovely courtyard. We are having the ceremony in the garden, but I am unsure about the decorations. We are on a very low budget so anything over the top isn't possible. Any suggestions would be great. The wedding will be @ 7:00 pm so candles would not be necessary. HELP!!!!!!!!

I'm doing all the planning for my wedding myself. While making the guest list on theknot.com, I noticed that you can select a person and pick all of the parties that they're invited to.

Engagement Party
Shower
Bachelor
Bachelorette
Rehearsal Dinner
Sunday Brunch

I hadn't even thought about any of that. What's a must-do and what's not? Sunday Brunch? What the...? Engagement Party? People have those?

Can somebody break it all down for me and help? Haha.
