I have a friend and actually, a coworker, that is getting married this fall. We work with another girl that, well, is just one of those girls that my friend doesn't want at her wedding. More than once, this girl has asked my friend when she is going to get her invitation to the wedding. I don't how to help with this situation because I only had a small wedding and didn't invite many people anyway. I've told my friend that it is HER day and if she doesn't want someone there, she shouldn't have to invite them. How can she tell this girl that without sounding too mean and offending her?

This will be my partners and my 2nd wedding and he wants a very quiet ceremony with just our children present. I also want a quiet ceremony too but would like a religious ceremony. I am not concerned about the venue just that i would like gods blessing., My first was a civil ceremony and we are both baptised. Does anyone have any ideas if this is possible ?

We have family members we are close to but know they will not be able to attend the wedding despite their desire to because of a schedule conflict. Do we still send them an invitation?

It's for my wedding, and I want to wrap them up in white lights and hang roses off the branches. I plan on placing them indoor around the dance floor. I think it's unique, but I can't seem to find any! They can be for rent or purchase.

It's the usual: it's not him, it's me. I can't think of being with anyone else, or losing him, and I have been wholly loyal for 4 years... but how can you commit for the rest of your life when you love the chase and being chased? Are you destined to be forever single, or are you just normal and having to make a compromise to settle down?

It's been 4 years but I hadn't thought about marriage. No doubt he is the one. Now I feel like I'm just waiting - when and where will he do it? Will it be the right ring? It's driving me insane but I can't discuss it with him since he will feel pressured to propose... how do I put my mind at rest (without breaking up)? And is it normal to get pre-proposal jitters?!

and I want to do something special for them. What is an appropriate gift? Is just taking them out to dinner OK, or should I buy them some crappy memento like a picture frame or something? Any good ideas?

I visited an out-of-town bridesmaid and met her boyfriend. The guy is a real creep, he seems devious, malicious, demeaning, aggressive, etc. He made my fiance and I so uncomfortable that we left after only being there for an hour! Bottom line is this guy is not allowed at our wedding, my fiance said so, and I agreed last night. I WILL NOT have my guests (especially the guests who would share a table) made to feel that uncomfortable for anyone...not even a very close friend who I did ask to be a bridesmaid!

So my question is...do I tell my friend that he is not allowed now? or do I wait until closer to the wedding (no need to stir a pot now if she isnt even going to be with him by the wedding)?

Side notes:
1. They have only been together for about 6months, but live together and "love" each other.
2. My wedding is in June 2008
3. I would tell her before she paid a dime for anything (I think we will buy bridesmaid dresses in Jan (there is a 30% off sale at a local store)

The guest list for my wedding keeps growing and growing, my fiance' and I are footing the bill. Everytime I turn around, 20 more people pop up who think they should be invited, because of one reason or other. I can pack them into the church, but we can't pay for everyone to come to the reception. How do I tell people this is an invitation only wedding and reception, not a word of mouth free for all?

The catch was you have to attend their 90 minute show where they promote their cooking utensils for sale (they really try to sell you this stuff). I've attended and did not buy anything and I did get the vacation. But I want to know if anyone won and went to the vacation offered. Also is it really legit. I found several pro/cons on the web. All I could really find is advise to not buy the cooking utensils but nothing on whether the trip is really legit. Help please!

I am in my 30's and am getting married to a great guy in 8 months and gave my mother PLENTY of notice. (she lives on the west coast, I on the east) She likes my guy, she's healthy, has enough money, and doesn't work weekends, yet has used every excuse in the book: (I don't like to fly, most people get married more than once so why bother?, she's too stressed with work, its a waste of $ all for one day etc etc) Mom has been married 4 times & obviously doesn't take marriage seriously, but this is my 1st marriage & my LAST! My older sister has the same mentality & is not coming either & the 2 of them love to conspire behind my back about how I'm wasting my $ on the wedding. (we have a small budget but we're doing alot with it) I have been on my own since 17 & never have asked ANYTHING of them ever in my life including $. This is a HUGE slap in the face. I am so mad that I haven't talked to her in over a month. She knows how I feel already & figures I'll get over it, but I'm ticked!

I have a very difficult time attending bridal showers if a couple is living together. Bridal showers are intended to help a couple establish a home together. If a couple already has that home, I feel that a shower is a poor and greedy way of "upgrading" their stuff. Look...you've lived together for a while now, and you have registered for everything!!!...You mean to tell me you've been living without bed sheets this whole time??? I don't think so!
Sometimes I feel alone in this issue. Does anyone feel the same way?

Hi,

I'm helping my sister with her wedding colors lately. She has this very beautiful, elegant ivory wedding gown at Davids Bridal (can't find a picture =[ )--with sequins and these very pretty ornates. But before, she thought she would be getting a white gown, so red would have been a nice color to go with white (bridesmaid). But since she went and fell in love with an ivory gown, red is not really a perfect combination now to go along with ivory.

What color can you suggest to blend perfectly well with an ivory gown?

Suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks alot! But nothing dark, please. We're trying to avoid them dark ones.

Thx...
Lelia.
