We were married by the Justice Of the Peace and for our 5th anniversary we want to renew our vows in the church that we have recently became members of. My question is our anniversary is March 17, and to do it on a weekend we will have to do it on March 14, does it matter? Do you have to renew your vows on your actually anniversary or can you do it just a few days before? When we got married the only people that were there were our parents, and we want to have a bigger wedding with all of our family and friends there.

To Nanny, to me it is very important to do a lager wedding in a church. Both my husband and I have just recently founnd our faith again. So I feel that since we were married by a JP we are not married in the eyes of the chruch and Lord. So this time around we want to remake that commitment in our church and with the Lord.

Firstly don't listen to the negative people saying there is no point, they are cynical and have no romance in their hearts!!
I don't think it matters if it is the right date as vow renewals are not legally binding, you are already married, this is just a way of expressing your continued devotion to each other, and so that you feel your marriage has God's blessing.

No, it doesn't have to be on the exact date. However, a vow renewal is NOT a big wedding - you have the wrong idea of what it is. You are already married, and your ceremony was your wedding, whatever the circumstances were at the time. For a vow renewal, you would just have a short ceremony or blessing, just wearing dressy clothes, followed by a dinner at your home for family and close friends. Five years is pretty early to do this, but whatever floats your boat....

If you go with proper etiquette yes it does but do it anyway! You can celebrate both or whatever you want to do. Just remember you are the bride again and everyone must do what you say. lol congrats oh, check out fancy gown shops now before summer and ask to see last years styles and you can find expensive dresses for practicaly nothing and even haggle the price down more because it is last years style. Well that is if you are going formal, if not hit the sales racks at the mall baby!

i think of you mustn't be too shocked in case you come across fairly opposition there. not too many females might rejoice with their husbands wanting to do some thing romantic like re-new their vows in simple terms so they are able to sleep with different individuals. Kinda places a damper on the gesture. even so, each and each to their very own! She may be thinking the comparable element yet does not comprehend a thank you to concepts-set the subject rely with you! you comprehend your spouse greater useful than anybody so in simple terms you are going to be the choose of that. in simple terms pay attention that if she does not choose for the assumption then you definately've gotten significant sucking as much as do to get returned in her stable books.

No, you don't have to do it on the same date. You've already made the commitment, it's just a time now for you to celebrate it...which could be any day of the year. You might decide to pick a date that has another meaning, like when ya'll first met, or when he asked you to marry him. that would be cool!

No that shouldn't matter. Your wedding date is still the same. This will just be a reconfirmation of your previous vows.
