My fiance and I are getting married in April of '08. We just finished with our lists. We both agreed that we wanted a small wedding since we have large families and are on a tight budget. Here is the problem. My mom and grandmother put a list together for me (which made me mad to start with) and my list is now huge compared to his. My fiance made a ton of sacrifices for his list and all I am hearing is "you HAVE to invite this person."

We cannot afford it and regardless of what my family says there financial help will be small. Is it rude to not want to invite my grandmother's relatives that I have not seen in 20 years?

I am getting married in July of 2007. I have my bridesmaids wearing navy but am totally stumped on what color flowers to have. Initially I was going to go with yellow and white flowers calla lilies and roses. I keep looking at it and feel like I need to go with more color or just stick to white flowers. I just am not sure I like the yellow as the stand out color by itself. any suggestions?

I am planning my wedding and one of the bridesmaids is a male and one of the groomsmen is a female. I have heard of calling the male bridesmaid a bridesman. What is the correct term for a female groomsmen?

I dated this guy for 2 years and we just felt there was too big of a difference in our ages for it to work. There were 22 years between us. But we loved each other and he found this new girl a month after we broke up and now they are getting married in 3 weeks (it’s only been 2 months he has known her). Regardless he still tells me he loves me and that he is in love with her but loves me. It means a lot to him that I go to the wedding but I don’t know. on one hand I want to go just so that I can let him know im done and I don’t care anymore and on the other hand I just don’t feel like dealing with it at all. I mean his new wife hates me because he told her he still loves me and always will. I don’t love him anymore it’s just all the memories. I am trying to start new relationship and he doesn’t approve because we are different races but I don’t need his approval and I just don’t know how to let him know I don’t want to be a part of his new life. And how do I make him let me go?

I just got engaged and am looking for a fun and cute way to ask a few friends if they would like to be my bridesmaids. Something inexpensive besides just calling them or taking them to lunch!! Also, if you have any advice for the grooms asking too that would be great!

We wanted to go to Mexico to have our ceremony. My parent's are fine with, have even agreed to pay for everything, but his parent's keep suggesting other places. They are never rude enough to say it is a bad idea but they are always saying, "It would be really pretty to have it _ _ _ _". His dad alsosays rude things about my parent's and laughs it off like he is joking. It drives me crazy...my fiance says to ignore it. I can't because they didn't want us to get married to begin with, which is crazy because we are 24 and both college graduates with decent jobs. Any suggestions on how to handle them and their comments??

My friend's mother is making a big deal about her not being married by a "man of God". They're using someone who is an ordained minister but does not "preach" in a church. Do you think the mother and father (who are paying for the wedding) have a say? The wedding is outside.

My parents are paying for the wedding but now my mother thinks this gives her the right to make all of the final decisions. She throws a tantrum if she doesn't get her way... water works and everything. She keeps saying this is her wedding too. How can I handle her without hurting our mother/daughter relationship? We weren't that close to begin with.

You all have great answers, I don't know how to respond to them on here. My sister-in-law thinks I should go to the ceremony to show my support for the wedding, but skip the reception. I already rsvp'd to it and it is this friday. My husband's aunt called to verify it and I agreed because I thought I could handle it. I don't think I can anymore after hearing that I was the one to blame for the last party. I would like to go to the reception to show that I am not the problem, but I honestly do not think that I can sit and enjoy myself with the expectation of something happening. But i also do not want her to think she got the best of me.

My fiance and I are getting married this weekend. She has a 4 year old daughter with her ex - and up until recently, he always treated her very poorly. (He left her when he found out that she was pregnant. And wanted nothing to do with his daughter for the first two years of her life.) And then we found out that she was pregnant, and we announced our engagement... and he has come around full circle. Suddenly, he is very supportive and has gone out of his way to build a relationship with me. While that was hard for me to swallow at first, I appreciate his support, and want the best for my step-daughter. So then, he gets my fiance a wedding gift... this bracelet that "symbolizes the union of a man and a woman". AND IT NEVER COMES OFF. I can't help but feel some kind of jealousy over it. And I need to figure out a way to ask her to remove it on our wedding day. In my mind, he is figuratively holding her wrist. We made love last night, and she wore nothing, except that damn bracelet.

I am invited to my fiance's cousin's bridal shower this weekend. What I want to know is do I sign both our names to the gift and card or just mine?

My husband of 3 1/2 years dated this girl from his cousin's other side of the family. After he stopped talking to her when we met, she was very upset and I can totally understand. However, we moved out of state weeks after we married because he was sent to Iraq. While he was gone he had the same cellphone number and I would get prank calls for months, finally I changed the number. Last Halloween we attended a party that his Aunt had and this girl was there. The whole night when fine until the very end when I walked outside and her and her sister drove past me calling me names and flicking me off. I was upset. The other day I called his Aunt to see if this girl would be going to the upcoming wedding, and they told me yes, also, told me that they had hired security and that they would be keeping an eye on me. Why me? I did nothing to this person! She told me if anything happens at his wedding that we will be escorted out. My inlaws are going. Do I? If something happens, they will blame me

will they keep contacting a girl even after the girl says no more because of pride or they care about the girl? Which one is the driving factor behind why they can't give up?

I saw my friend with her boyfriend entering motel. I thought she's innocent at first i mean i freak out and want to give her some advice about relationships. Do you thinks it's not right to judge her inspite of all these? I mean it isn't cheap to go to a place like that even when you're with the one you really love? i mean she's not what i thought so. she's very naive when it comes to that. Give me some opinion here please

My husband and i both virgins when we married, so we are shy buying sex toys or stuffs like that. How could we both overcome that shyness? We’re both in the stores when we're going to purchase something and when we are in the counter we’re hesitant to buy that thing. Btw we look young as a married couple that’s why other people thought we’re just bf gf things only.
