I am planning my wedding and one of the bridesmaids is a male and one of the groomsmen is a female. I have heard of calling the male bridesmaid a bridesman. What is the correct term for a female groomsmen?

In this day and age people use groomsman and bridesmaid out of habit and tradition. When planning a wedding they are all "attendants".
You have the Bride's attendants and the Groom's attendants (and of course in there are the honor attendants). That leaves it genderless and easy to deal with in programs and such.

Honor attendant (for both a female groomsman and a male bridesmaid) is the right term.

bridesman-male bride attendant
I plan on having a Man of Honor (my best friend) and being his Best Maid.
But, you call them what you want at your wedding.
