My wedding dress is in (1 week after I ordered it, and they told me it would take 15!) and I need to go pick it up. I wasn't expecting it so soon, so I'm not really ready to go get it. They said I have a week to pick it up-I'd like to just get it altered while it's already there. My question....
I'm having a beach wedding and we aren't wearing shoes. So, my dress is going to be taken up quite a bit. I'm not sure what to wear to the reception that we have back home though. It will obviously have to be something flat so the dress isn't too short (sad because I LOVE heels!)....but I'd really like to have whatever I'm going to wear before I go get fitted. Any ideas (websites?) for cute flat shoes? (no flip flops!) I really only wear heels, so I have no idea what would look good.

I have gotten alot of replies about my religion question about Catholic/Lutheran marriage and I am confused about one thing.. people have been telling me about all this paperwork I/we would have to do to get married -- okay.. so what is the paperwork you speak of?

(I am Lutheran and my boyfriend is Catholic.. I had asked about a Catholic blessing and a Lutheran or some other type of wedding)

Anyone out there think this is just bullshit?? I am engaged and have a wedding date of September 29th of 2007. When my fiance proposed his older sister, who has been in a relationship for 6 years, was happy for us but not because this happened to her little brother before her. In her eyes this was something that she had been waiting for and thought should go in order! She never showed her disappointment but anyone could see evern her family was afraid to say anything to her for fear that she'd be mad! Well over this weekend she too became engaged, she now plans to wed in May 2007, yes thats right 4 months before me. Its a race to the alter in my opionion and I think its just crap! Not only does it stress the family but the same guests that will be asked to attend both weddings and out of town guests as well. I'm not unhappy that she is engaged, I think its well over due however I believe doing this in the same year takes away from her brother and I'm very pissed off about that!

I have three best friends, one I have known since the 5th grade and we have not seen eachother in a couple of years, but we keep in touch with emails weekly, one I have been friends with for about 5 years, and one I have only known for about a year. I realy want one of them to be my maid of honor, the one I have known about a year, but do you think that the others feelings would be hurt if I did not choose them? How would you feel if somone got chosen over you??

Can the wedding couple keep the disc of photos from a professional wedding photographer? Back with negatives, the couple would have to pay for the negatives, what are the traditional terms now with digital images? If they charge, how much usually. Does anyone have a general contract that the photographer uses for this? Can the couple demand the disc or ask for it? Will teh photographer offer it to stay competitive in light of new competition in among all the digital photographers? Any info you can give me on what is traditional or how the trend is moving during this time of transition from film to digital surrounding wedding photography, discs and film. photobooks etc would be much appreciated!

My fiancée wants her niece to be the Junior Bride (a miniature version of her). The Junior Bride is different from a Junior Bridesmaid; she dresses exactly like the bride.
I have heard it may be a Hispanic wedding tradition. Also that it is usually the child of either the groom or bride, or plays a significant part of the couple's life. Her niece is not part of our life. My fiancée has expressed that there is no particular reason for her niece to be a Junior Bride, other than it was a "good idea". My fiancée did not raise her niece nor has a bond beyond the normal aunt-niece, and her niece's mom is already the Maid of Honor. I say make her an usher, tea girl, or Junior Bridesmaid. No, the bride does not get the final word, because I am getting married also; it is OUR day! I am very involved with the wedding planning, as much if not more than she is.

Went to a wedding. Outside venue (didn't know it was going to be outside in 95+ degree heat + high humidity). When reception started. Dinner was to be served. 80% of guests were served INSIDE and 20% or less were served outside. Of course, bridal party was seated and served inside. Should all guests be seated in same room or building? Is there some sort of etiquette rule about this???

I dont understand the difference and how the whole ring process works. After the proposal you have an engagment ring right... when you walk down the aisle is there supposed to be another ring? So you end up with an engagment and wedding ring and the man has just the wedding ring? And do you take the engagment ring off so that he puts both your engagment and wedding ring on during the wedding. I dont know how else to ask this question because Im so confused but please help if possible.
Thank you!
