it truly is actual that for the duration of wealthier international locations women many times marry at a later age. yet it isn't the case. contained in the few prosperous international locations the place women don't have equivalent rights, i'm thinking the Gulf States right here... the marriage age remains quite youthful even nevertheless the in line with capita earnings is severe. So, the respond to the situation of underage marriage could seem to be equivalent rights and academic opportunities for women and girls. The divorce value is decrease while people wait 'til they're older, plus later marriage has a tendency to bring about fewer offspring that's a good concern for the full overburdened planet.

There was a brief article in National Geographic a couple of months ago on this topic. Laws vary in different countries and also within states, provinces and regions of countries. I forget the specifics but in some countries a woman can legally wed when she reaches puberty. In other countries a pregnant woman can legally marry the father regardless of her age.
The article did not go into legal definitions of puberty.

16 in the UK, I am not sure about other countries but I understand children can be betrothed from birth and actually be joined in ceremony at a still very young age. But females bodies are not fully ready to carry children until their early twenties therefore unless you are postponing starting a family I would say try to put it off if you can.

In all civilised countries, when a women grows into woman hood, then she is free to choose what *she* wants to do. Not so in some countries; in some places they forcibly/brutaly restrict what she may do; that is they stop her from having a family or sex untill she's 21.
