I am located in central illinois and am looking for a nice but inexpensive location for a wedding. We want something other than a church

I want to do something fun and different for my wedding center pieces, and i thought about getting blank cards and leaving a few cards, colored paper and neat pens in the center of the table (along with a bud vase with 2 roses) So that guests could write special thoughts, comments and messages and put them in a scrap book after the wedding. Does this sound like a good idea, or does it sound too cheesy, or low class???

I do not want to walk down the aisle to the Wedding March. I want a nice song, but not anything too sappy.

My finance is upset that I am having a bachlorette party. He doesnt want to stay at home because he says that he will just sit here and worry and get mad about it. I feel that he should stay at home with our 5 week old daughter rather than hiring a babysitter. I plan to stay at home with her while he goes out for his bachlor party. Any thoughts or advice? Please help. Am I right to be upset with him.

When your husband throws the garter, does the person who catches it return it to the bride and groom or do they keep it as a souvenir of the wedding?

I am an upper middle class bride to be, and I am wondering the range of prices and maybe even a suggestion of where to get a gown. I am just engaged, so I haven't done any research. I am just trying to get a starting point.

Does it have any meaning? And if so, what?
I bought my gf a thumb ring to signify I'm under her thumb.

I just got engaged. It's beautiful. We're in love with each other. Great careers. Both from good stock. Great family history. We both made commitments, to ourselves, prior to meeting, to abstain from sex until marriage. We met. Found we share the same views. Yada, yada yada. Keep in mind, neither one of us are virgins, it was a "turn over a new leaf" kinda thing. Well, while visiting a mutual friend's cottage, I became privy to some info that totally freaked me out. It turns out that he has a tremendously small penis. Child-size. Abnormal. Vienna. My thumb...maybe. The mutual friend is cousins to an ex-girlfriend of his. Don't get me wrong, I am totally in love with this man. My soul loves him, you hear me!!! But sex is very important to me in a relationship. And good sex at that. The wedding's in June '07. I don't know what to do folks. Don't want to be selfish. Willl never meet a better guy. I will NEVER tell him about this but WHAT??!!! Your opinion please.

Is it possible to buy a bridesmaid's dress from a bridal store and ask them to stitch cap sleeves on the dress for you? I know a bridesmaid in my sister's wedding would prefer cap sleeves, and I have tried searching the internet, but every sleeve out there is just too long or the dress is ugly. Has anybody done this before? Did it turn out good? What would you suggest?

I recently attended a wedding where the bride and groom had cake and then opened up the gifts in front of everyone at the reception. I thought it took forever and I got restless. Shouldn't the gifts be opened later on your own time or is it appropriate to do it then and there? I'm just wondering bc at my wedding reception I want it to be nice and enjoyable and most deff. not dragging. Thanks for your input!

What is a cost estimate for a tent for 200 people? This wedding will be in Maine, in October of 2007. Also, i heard you can have the entire tent floored, instead of just having a dance floor. About how much will this cost?

I am getting married this weekend. My parents have put 9 months worth of time and money into this event (they are covering the reception, car rental, hair, makeup and my dress alterations). My fiance and I covered the chapel, DJ, and photographer payments. I want to give my parents a nice, thoughtful gift (I think I'm going for a really nice frame to put a wedding photo in but have a nice thank you note when I give it to them). However, his parents have done squat. They're showing up and that's about it. Hell, it took his mom until a couple months ago to say congrats about it (she heard about it in Feb). His mother is participating at the ceremony with the unity candle lighting, but she doesn't seem all that thrilled. So, am I obligated to give his folks a gift? I don't feel that I need to. Should I wait to give my folks a gift after the rehearsal dinner so it's not in front of his dad? (My fiance's mom is not attending the rehearsal dinner). Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

This will be our second marriage for both of us. My boyfriend of 3 1/2 years has finally decided to become engaged to me. So why has he not told any one about this, not his friends or worse yet his family?

Her mother is better looking than his x and I think he did them both, to tell the truth. He even asked if I would mind if the first dance went to Ginger (his x's mother) What do you all think? He said he would make it a fast dance, but I not so sure I can trust his friend who happens to be the DJ. Anyone?

My honey and I are getting married next year (Oct. of 07) and he wants to have it on a Saturday.... now you know that’s going to cost more than a Sunday wedding or a Friday wedding. (I am trying to find ways to cut the cost down a little)

I want to know if you were invited to a wedding for Friday would you be willing to taking a day off, or leave early from work. Would that make you less willing to come? (Wedding is at 4:00 or 5:00 lets say) what are some pros and cons of a Friday wedding.
>> do you think guests would arrive late?

How about Sunday? What are some pros and cons for that? (Same time 4 or 5)
>> would guest leave early?

He wants Saturday so that everyone has more time to get there and there is less stress about. Is he right?

any pros and cons would help tremendously, thanks!
