This is a poem my brother wrote to read at my wedding reception. My Dad told him he couldn't (rightly so...)
The part about the caulk is...my husband was working in the backyard and it started to rain, his dad threw some tubes of caulk inside our grill so they wouldn't get wet.....and forgot about them until he fired it up...need i say more??

(In an english accent)

Scott and Devon got married today
It's only the beginning there's much more to say...

In an empty new house Scott gave her a ring
the house since finished it is quite a thing
With sod and paint and sinkholes galore
getting this far has been quite a chore

SCOTT'S CAULK IS ON FIRE!!!
But please don't fret... Your married now Devon
Get his caulk wet!
You are all sick that's not what I meant
Now Scott's over here pitching a tent

Scott I hope your happy with this sister of mine
Keep your caulk out of grills and I'm sure you'll do fine.

My best friend is getting married tomorrow and I have to give the best man speech. I would like to incorporate a joke or two. Two things that I would like to joke about are that they met at a bar. When my friend was in the bathroom, his wife (as of tomorrow) came up to me and my other friend and told us that she thought he was hot. This is how they met. Secondly, he broke his ankle at the bachelor party. I am not sure if this is a sore subject, but I bet I could make a joke of it. THANK YOU!

Opinions would be greatly appreciated. I’m lost on what to do!!
I have a serious dilemma. I'm going to a wedding tomorrow that is at 4 P.M. Most of my family is wearing black. I'm not really a big fan of black. However I don't want to wear the wrong color and everyone talk about it. I have two dresses. My favorite dress is this beautiful lavender dress with silver sequins on it that looks awesome on me. However, my mom thinks it’s not an appropriate color for the wedding. I also have a black dress that I like but doesn’t look as good as the lavender one. So my question is which dress would be appropriate?

I need ideas! My FI and I do not want what most people have (dinner, dacing, ect....). We don't really know what we want just that we don't want that. It would be at night and most likely in San Francisco, also money is not a factor. Thanks for your ideas!

We want to elope and get married....just us two. Its romantic to us that way. But we both have children from previous relationships and close family that we would like to include in our celebrating. So we're thinking about having a reception where we can exchange our vows again in front of family, and have a nice reception. Is it wrong to have our wedding in a different order?

Thanks for reading....any answer appreciated.

Sorry bad speller! If you are putting together a wedding shower at a resturant, do you have to cover the cost of everyone's meals?
Can it be no-host? Do you just provide appetizers?

My friend's wedding is in March. I looked at their online registry and no one has bought anything for them yet. Do people usually buy registry gifts closer to the wedding date, or what? Thanks.

Let me explain a little more. My wedding is a country wedding (born and raised in the south) and the wedding itself is going to be very elegant, but the reception I want to be a full out party.....chicken wings, beer, dancin to the Stones and Allman Brothers and so on (I know, not very classy but it fits me and my fiance). But I'm worried about the awkwardness of my preacher being there and afraid I won't have as much fun because I'll be worried about being on my best behavior.....not that I'm going to get drunk or start dirty dancing, but you know what I mean.

I just got engaged and we are planning the wedding for next september. The guest list will be 100-150 people long, and I'm trying to get an estimate of how much this whole thing is going to cost us. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

question. My boyfrined is in the Military and we want to get married. His 19 and Im 20 his turning 20 and me 21. I know were young but we both know in are hurts that we want to be 4ever together. He looked on the internet and bought some cute cheap rings & and r gonna be here in 2 weeks. As to everything that is going on. We were gonna get married at the court house because its fast and cheap. Then have the big wedding later. My family knows we want to get married and his is all for it. but since my family is a little worried about this and thinks I should wait. but im an adult I make my choices not my parents. Should I tell them what we have been thinking about or just sperpise them with the news. Then they couldnt get mad but be happy. but I dont care if they are this is my life.

The way our church is set up, everyone would have to come in from the front (outside) but I don't want to be too covered up. Most of the gowns that I like are either sleeveless or short sleeved.

My date is from the west coast....we don't know eachother too well, he came out here for the wedding, and also to get to know me better....(friend of the family at this point)...
SO apparently "formal" means something else where he's from. I can't allow him to go to the wedding in casual wear, both for his sake, and out of respect for the bride and groom....What's a good solution?? Should I offer to buy a shirt?? Would it be rude to ask him to borrow a tie and jacket from a relative of mine?

I'm getting married in less than 3 months and I've been racking my brain trying to come up with a cute idea of getting myself, the Bride, and the groom to kiss at the reception. We want to stay away from clinging the glasses or having a guest sing something with the word "Love" in it. Any ideas are welcome. It would be of so much help.
