People usually wait until the wedding is closer and some even go on buying gifts once the wedding has passed. If the registry is already up you can always buy them a gift and be one of the first people to send them something, I think this will guarantee they remember your gift, or you can wait until the wedding date is closer, however, please don't wait until the last moment, by then the good gifts are usually taken and depending on the closeness you have towards the couple, it can make you seem uninterested.

You have up to one year after the wedding to supply a gift...of course that is an old rule... I suggest buying one month after or less. If you wait until after, or closer to the day of then you have a chance of getting them things that they really want and that they have not recieved. But it also could leave you without a gift from the registry. I suggest you buy one month before and have the gift delivered to the home of the bride.

God-My weddings in March and I haven't even registered yet! They are on the ball! I read somewhere that most gifts get purchased in the 72 hours before the wedding. I don't think their is a "rule" against purchasing gifts too early however...hey and if you do, you will have a better selection to choose from and maybe even catch some things on sale!

well, my wedding is in exactly one month, and i've been checking my registry for about 5 months and people have just started buying gifts from it in the last 2 weeks.
i think people just wait till closer to the event to buy the gift.

It's weird that she is even registered this early. Most of her stuff is going to get discontinued before the wedding.
Showers are usually 1-2 months before the wedding and that's when the word about the registry really starts to get spread and gifts get purchased.
How did you know where she was registered, already? Please tell me she's not announcing it in her website or something, like a tacky gimmee-bride.

Not everyone buys gifts from the registry. I consider it tacky, so I boycott the registry and choose something special I know they will like.

There is no specific protocol. You can buy a gift any time you like. You will have more of a choice if you buy it sooner rather than later when many more options are available.
If you have a specific dollar amount in mind, you can purchase a gift card from one of the couple's favorite stores.

Your registry is for showers and for the marriage. whether, persons are actually not obligated to compliment a contemporary from the registry. that's in basic terms a catalogue of mentioned products for you to use to your new abode. and don't return the dish towels. you will choose extra desirable than you could think of. they're going to are available in attainable.
