I need ideas! My FI and I do not want what most people have (dinner, dacing, ect....). We don't really know what we want just that we don't want that. It would be at night and most likely in San Francisco, also money is not a factor. Thanks for your ideas!

If money is not an issue, get a wedding planner and have it arranged by her.

You can rent a yacht and take all your guests into a weekend cruise, ala Pam Anderson and Kid Rock.

Pac Bell Park.......or whatever the hell it's called now.

I'm thinking of doing it myself. Dinner, drinks, dancing are the same as every other wedding. But the locale is totally different. You can bet nobody has probably been to a wedding reception at a ball park.

It costs $8,000 to rent out the 3rd Street Plaza or the Plaza in centerfield behind the big glove. It seats 350 or 500 standing. Dinner runs about $40 a head and drinks are like $28 for an open bar for 3 hours. But you have to rent the table, linen, silverware.

The big problem is that they won't book you till the 2007 Giants schedule comes out since they won't do it during a game.

I was married a month ago. We didn't want dinner dancing etc either. We had a small wedding with 60 guests. We had an 8:00 pm candlelight ceremony. Then, our guests had a guided tour of our location (which was a micro brewery in a historic building) while we had our photos taken. Then e had a few SHORT toats and speeches, next hors d'oevers and cocktails were served and everyone mingled and chatted and had a GREAT time!! At 11:30 pm a dessert buffet was served with coffee and tea. We had so much fun!

Another idea is to get married early afternoon and have a punch and cake reception/ garden party.

My cousin didn't want the dancing so she had a dinner and had friends and family entertain eachother with songs, speeches etc they had prepared a head of time.

Here are a few ideas- hope they are creative enough!

- take your guests to the Amusement park and have a big celebration complete with fireworks
- rent out a theatre and have a special show done just for your guests.
- Have a nicely sized outdoor casino themed picnic (under a tent of course) complete with a band.
- Odd thought here- if money is no issue to you, and i would suspect some of your guests, would you ever consider turning it into a fundraising for a charity of some sort? Not sure exactly how to do it, but it would be very lovely! (like in lieu of gifts, they can make a donation to whatever charity?)
- Have a huge Mardi Gras processional and then a party on a boat.
- Take your guests to some type of sporting event (see if you can rent out a section)
- Costume party!!! Or a Masquerade ball- those look like so much fun!

Hope these help! Congratulations!

Rent out the Exploratorium. You could have the ceremony under the arches at the Palace of Fine Arts, then have everyone go inside for an evening of hands-on fun!

I have never had the opportunity to do it, but I know from doing research for a work event that they are open to evening stuff, and even have a list of preferred caterers on their site.

It could also be fun to have everyone go to Beach Blanket Babylon! I don't know if you could do the ceremony there, but they obviously can serve you dinner, and everyone would certainly spend the evening laughing!

How about having a show or some kind of entertainer (i.e. comedian, hypnotist, magician, etc.)? Since you'll be in San Francisco, how about a boat ride or a dinner cruise? Whatever you do, be sure to leave time for you to chat with your guests!

Rent a yacht, get married on the yacht overlooking your favorite places.
Get married in a Botanical Garden at sunset.
Get married on a Trolley.
Get married on a cliff.
Elope! lol...if you don't want the whole reception thing this is always an option.

Have a wedding cake and put a plastic figurine of a bride and groom at the top. Oh, I didn't see the San Francisco thing. Nevermind.
