I'm looking for a site for my wedding ceremony and reception in the Bay Area. Preferably: moderately priced, indoor ceremony area, lots of windows, catering provided. All suggestions welcome-- Thanks!

preferable the East Bay (Pleasanton, San Ramon, Walnut Creek, Livermore, etc) or even San Francisco or San Jose and their surrounding areas

Well, the Bay Area is pretty big...any chance you can narrow it down a bit?

My daughter is getting married next October at Peachwood's at Pasatiempo. Their pricing is fairly reasonable, in particular, as we will have the run of the place, and they have staff to help act as wedding coordinators. It's fairly far south, though.

Try theknot.com...they have info on lots of local sites.

Don't believe everyone who's saying you can't do it in this area for $10K. I'm doing my daughter's wedding for about $8500, and she's having a super-formal event with at least 200 people.

Here's a few links that might help (I can't make any promises on pricing, but they'll at least get you started). Besides all of these, there are bound to be about a million Golf/Country Clubs out that way that can offer nice views and decent pricing.

That's pretty tough, considering food in most decent restaurants range from $50 and up already (for a hundred people, that's about $5,000, plus of course tax and gratuity which is about 18%). If you want an open bar, then that's another huge cost, plus the rental chair covers and silverware.

I advise you to hold it at a hotel function room or a quaint inn somewhere (such as the Mariott)--have both the ceremony and reception there since you wouldn't have to pay to rent the room, just the catering, and probably spend a grand or two on the decors. Otherwise, it will be pretty tough to work with your budget.

well your budget is going to be a problem here in the bay. as you know, everything is expensive here. even east bay will be more expensive than $10k for that amount of people. try cutting down on the head count since you want it catered. catering costs a lot more than making & preparing the food yourself. but it's less stress for the couple to have catered.

Depends what your budget is and how many people. But I'm looking for places myself right now and here are what I think are good ones.

Pac Bell Park (yes, they accomodate weddings but not during ball games)

Legion of Honor

Chenery Mansion (www.cheneryhouse.com) is a freakin lovely mansion.

Winerys in Napa or Sonoma.
