Do you think it's high? Is that why you are asking? Weddings have traditionally been a very big event, with lots of ppl, lots of partying and lots of money spent. Parents used to save up for years for their children's wedding because of it's significance either religiously or culturally. Whatever you do make sure that you will not start your marriage in huge debt, b/c money problems can sink an otherwise brilliant relationship.

If you can afford that without going into debt or having other financial difficulties (sacrificing necessary living expenses each month to pay for the wedding) then go for it if that's what you feel is best for you.

Geography plays a major part in budget, which most people do not take into consideration at all. In some areas, $15K is extremely lavish. In other areas of the country, $15K won't even get you a barebones wedding.

Before you make your budget, price out different services in your area so that you have a ballpark of what you will be spending, and then go from there.

Shop around for the best quality/service/personality and don't buy the first thing you see because you may find something or someone better down the road.

Depends, do u want it to cost 15k just so u can say, my wedding cost 15k? or do u want it to cost 15k cuz thats how much money u need to accomodate urs & his family? wanting is 1 thing, the question is, can u, or whoever is paying, afford it without leaving anyone responsible for it financially unstable? Think about it, if everyone in the end will be ok, then go for it, its urs & ur soon to be hubbys day, so celebrate. just remember that its not about $$$, it should be about 2 people who love each other, vowing to be 2gether, no matter what.

WHY! ARE YOU SPOILED! A wedding is a celebration of two lives becoming one! All that should matter is who your sharing it with! Family and close friends! Spending 15K on 5 hours max is really unnecessary! You have more with less! Think of all that money that can be saved for a honeymoon or a house!

Honestly i think that is crazy. you should use that money for a home or something that you can use in the future. I admit i would have loved to have a wedding that cost as much but it just wasnt possible. I say if you can afford it do it if not dont make your life together stressful if you have that large of dept already together.

However you want to pay as much as you want, of course. My wedding coming up in July will be more than that because my parents and everybody want me to have a gorgeous wedding. I'm 18 and my realitives, family friends and close friends all say they want to play a part. My mom say this wedding dress and now all of a sudden everything is changed. I'm not paying for anything, so enjoy your day, it's your day

Do you mean it has to cost that much or you won't be satisfied? Or do you mean, you just would like to have a lavish wedding? If it's not the first reason, that you demand it cost that much then do as you wish. But if you're more worried about how much it costs and not enough about how your MARRIAGE is going to be then I'd say you have a bad agenda.

Are you paying for it?

If your parents are paying for it, think again. I origianlly wanted a $15K wedding, and now we're down to $8000. It's still gorgeous, it's just cheaper.

So before you ask US if it's okay, talk with your financial suppliers (i.e. PARENTS) to discuss your requests. You won't be able to have EVERYTHING you want, and you'll have to make some cuts.

I think so cause the average wedding cost about 25k. If you look at it that way you are saving. I suggest that you get a good organizer to stay on that budget though.

15k is alot for a wedding. with that you should be able to do almost anything you want. I went to a 10k wedding and it was really great. everything was paid for. But it really all depense on what you want at your wedding and where you want it to be.
