I plan to have my bridesmaids walk down the aisle to "Waiting on an Angel" by Ben Harper, and then I want to walk down the aisle to "At Last" by Etta James. For the recessional, after we're pronounced husband and wife, I want to play "I Feel Good" by James Brown.

I'm so tired of the classical wedding music...it seems like people are just going through the motions and playing songs because that's the tradition. However, some people have said that playing contemporary music will make the guests feel uncomfortable.

What do you think? How would you react if you went to a wedding and heard the songs listed above instead of "Cannon in D" and "Here Comes the Bride"???

I'm the maid of honor in my friends wedding. There are 9 Bride's Maids... 2 are children who live out of state. I've decided the 7 left over can split the cost for the shower, so I planned a date to have it. Being it is a big bridal party, it's hard to please everyone. One of the girls states she can't get off work, but will send a gift to the bride. Does this mean she is excluded from the cost split by the party? Do I now have to split it 6 ways? what if 3 girls can't make it, then there's only 4 left....Also, how would I tell her that the gift your giving IS the party?

My Loving Angel

I believe that we all have an angel.
An Angel that really does care.

An Angel of who looks after us.
An Angel that is always there.

I know for a fact that I have one.
She lives here upon the Earth.

She believes in me and what I do.
Teaches me what I'm worth.

She picks me up when I fall down.
Makes me laugh when I cry.

Makes me smile when I’m sad.
She keeps my head up high.

Always there when I need her
All I have to do is call.

She’s the one keeping me alive.
She keeps me standing tall.

I'm so grateful to have her.
I love her to death.

Always and forever.
Until my very last breath.

Its 11:30 now and im not sure what to wear. my boyfriend suggested i wear this 2 inch above the knee flower ish skirt that has black trim around the top ( i wore it to my 8th grade g raduation) it is a dressy skirt, but today it is cold so i was thinking maybe leggings? is that too informal?

I'm in high school and there's a wedding in November, it's pretty formal. Not very formal but not casual either. I know it's at a fancy hotel. What are some appropriate clothing would you suggest? Or some tips you could suggest. I know like no jeans, flip flops, t shirts, shorts, etc... Thanks.

just told my future husband that i got a positive pregnanct test i was so excited and scared! He on the other hand wants to move up the wedding day because he is afraid of how it will look if i walk down the isle pregnant and is panicking about what his italian mommy will think of this aparently she liked me when we met and the rest of his family did too we all got along and my spanish family is coming around to him and he is afraid this will mess things up? Is he taking this too far?I mean we are 24, and 25 years old not children and he does not want anyone to know it is almost like he is embarrassed of me being pregnant? Our familys are both catholic too mine are probably stricter than his! He has decided to take over the wedding plans! I feel left out and sad?

The question: How should I handle my MIL's request to move the rehearsal up to 11:00?

The situation: Back when we were engaged, we were going to be married on a Saturday. We changed the date due to my grams being diagnosed with cancer, and due to the budget it was moved to Sunday. My MIL has know that it was on a Sunday for over a year.

We are renting an old theater that also hosts concerts, and Cindi Lauper is playing the day/night before our wedding so having the rehearsal on Saturday is out. Since our wedding is at 3:30 and the place opens for us at 10:00, my fiance and I decided to have our rehearsal at 10:00. At 11:00 the hair and make-up team is coming for the women in the bridal party. It's set in stone--I can't move this. It's BEEN set in stone for 5 months.

My MIL keeps complaining about how no one will be able to go to church with our rehearsal at 10:00' we're talking major guilt trip. My fiance has explained to her many, many times that if they want to go to...

She's currently in basic training, and I'm here by my lonesome, stuck planning this thing by myself. Cost doesn't really matter, but I want to do the planning. Any clue on where to get rings(went with Tiffany for engagement ring, not going there again... Shoot for something more reasonable for bands) I'm hoping to pull off something special for her. So far obviously she wants a church, but after that I'm lost. reception ideas? Honeymoon location? I'm 22, shes 18, so it's gotta be kinda fun. If there is a site that sells everything I'd need minus the girl, that would be great. Thanks. Maybe an invite if you have good feedback, and are local(Michigan)
