i,m aware that when marrying in new jersey you have to obtain yr liscience from the part of jersey that the bride resides in.. if she doesnt reside in new jersey then its wherever the grrom resides.which is fine so my fiance resides in parsipphany new jersey...so we need to get the liscince from the parsipphany registras office.....now this is also fine but we want to get married via civial service then big wedding yr later.. trouble is the mayor or judge only marrys on atuesday and a wednesday.im only going for 3 weeks one of which those thursdays is thanksgiving.i have asked what dates they have available but they say they wont divulge this information till my finance applies for the licience.greattttttt!! which doesnt help me at all as its only good for 3weeks.could i not obtain my licience at this office but get someones else to marry us from another office??? as long as we are marrying in new jersey..is this allowed...???

I'm getting married 3 weeks today, and I am a woman on the edge.

I know that I want to marry my partner that bit of it doesn't scare me, but I'm terrified that something will go wrong, I'm having nightmares that the cake won't arrive, or my dress will get torn, or that I've forgotten to order the flowers (i know i haven't)

Id there anything anyone can suggest - other than getting drunk!

The wedding is less then two months away. We've sent out the invites and everything is set. But my fiance's brother, Brian, is back in town. Brian is bi-polar, mildly pyschotic, and a violent alcoholic. Neither of us want him at the wedding but he knows many of the people my fiance know and they are all invited to the wedding. It won't be hard for him to figure out where and when it is. Particularly since we sent my fiance's mom an invite and he goes over there often. My problem is that Brian doesn't like my fiance and he is very loud, rude, and vulgar when drunk (and he's always drunk) He likes me even less. If he shows up at the wedding and starts throwing a fit (we highly suspect he will) is it ok to ask a few of the guys to deny him entrance to the church and if necessary escort him away as quietly as possible?
Another fly in the ointment, my fiance's mom wants him to come. She has asked if she can bring him as long as he is sober. My fiance flat out said no.

My soon to be sister in law needs ideas for her Father/Daughter dance. Though she is close to her paternal family, her biological father has never been there for her...now that she's getting married, he wants to be recognized as her dad. He's kind of a nutcase. Her stepfather, who has raised her since about 6 months of age will be walking her down the aisle and dancing with her for the father/daughter dance. Any suggestions? Her biological father will be there, and she's afraid to hurt his feelings, but wants to make this day special for her and her stepfather, as he is the only dad she remembers. Now she's trying to find the right song. Please be serious here. Thanks!

Does anyone know of any cheap photographers, or photography students in the Charleston/Summerville, SC area? I'm planning a simple outdoor wedding for May 19, 2007 and need to locate a cheap photographer. It is the 2nd wedding for the bride and groom.

I have heard that the band goes on before the engagement because you take the engagement ring off during the wedding but I think the engagement ring should be on first because you get engaged first. Which one is it? Or does it really matter?

Her party is on Oct 21st. She's one of my best friends and the craziest ***** I ever met. I need some fun ideas of things we can do for her big night out. (Trust me, the more we embarrass her, the more she'll appreciate it.)

My fiancee is a pretty shy guy and doesn't have many friends at all. A few years ago guy at our workplace befriended him and they play golf together weekly. So, we are now making invitation lists for our wedding and my fiancee wants his "friend" on the list.

The problem is that I don't like his friend. He is a super religous freak and he won't bother with people who don't have money or connections. I think he latched on to my fiancee because he is a kind person who happens to make good money. He tells people that they aren't Christian and that they are going to go to hell because of various reasons (living together before marriage, children out of wedlock) There are so many other reasons I don't like this person that are too numerous to list.

Am I right or am I wrong? This person makes my skin crawl and my stomach turn. I don't feel that he should get to share in our day. Should I be adament that he not attend our wedding?

Besides the wedding gift, tux rental, and missing time from work ... I am suprised that she thinks that she and the groom should get another gift separate from the wedding present. Is this normal?
