how about some sort of theme - maybe get dressed up?
you could hire a stripper or buy the stag a lap dance and have lots of dares/tasks lined up for him.
be generous in terms of buying him drinks and just have fun!

I don't know if this will work for you, but I am staying in a haunted hotel for my bachlorette party. We are planning on trying to communicate with the haints (ghosts for all you people not from the south)! LOL! We don't really believe in all that stuff, but we are hoping to be proven wrong. Bar hopping is always something guys do for bachelor parties. Get a Geisha to entertain! Something I saw that might be cool to do is got to the Gekkeikan Okura Museum, which presents the history of Fushimi sake, is located in an old sake warehouse. Exhibited here are utensils used for making sake, old documents, products from past ages, posters used for advertising and other related items. After taking in the exhibit, visitors can try some sake. Reservations required to view the exhibit. Sounds like fun to me! Good Luck!

Didn't you hear? The fashionable thing now for bachelor parties is a quiet drink down at the local pub, possibly followed by a takeaway.

No? No, didn't think so!

When my daughter got married, my son-in-law's stag party was held in Nottingham (yes, I know..) Anyway, it was really just a tour of the clubs with quite a few drinks thrown in for good measure, but my son-in-law had to perform 'tasks' for which he was awarded points. I.e. kiss a girl (1 point) or even kiss a guy (2 points) (3 points if tongues were involved). Etc.

Great hilarity at the wedding reception when we discovered that my son-in-law had grabbed my son and kissed him. He said he felt comfortable knowing that he was about to become 'family'! And at least he was awarded more points.

Is there a group of you? The coolest stag party idea I heard of was where each of a group of friends got to choose something to do with the groom and the rest of the party - but they had to pay for it too. It meant that everyone got to stick within their budget and people got to see a different side of a city (in this case London) that they thought they already knew. My boyfriend still talks about what a fabulous day it was (he was noe of the party) - they had breakfast in a private members club, went on a tourist bus, went to a traditional pie and mash shop, went clubbing etc etc. Maybe you could od the same with your party? Give them each a time slot and tell them to take you to a cool/silly place in Kyoto.

If his fiance is open-minded, would she maybe like to dress up in a "costume" and pop out of a large cake? Would your friend be offended if she did this? I had a friend who was getting married and she dressed up as a Playboy bunny. After the evening progressed, a large cake was brought in. Her fiance was toasted by all of the men in the room and suddenly she "popped" out of the top of the cake! It surprised her fiance, of course, and made for a fun evening. She left shortly after that, and the men only know what happened after that. ;-) Have a great weekend, Oli. Have fun!

my hubby and i will be renewing our vows soon and since we never had anything traditional at our first wedding we will be doing things as if we never married
the pre wedding showers the partys etc
weve both agreed upon one thing
were going to do something with our friends that wont demoralize any of our standards
for example instead of the traditional "stripper parties" weve agreed to get together with our friends and go bowling or to a movie or something like that

Just don't be too bad, he is getting married after all. Don't get out the strippers or anything. That is just asking for trouble. Just have a few drinks and have fun with it!
