My uncle did something rather unique...he and his girlfriend has a dinner, invited all his kids (they are grown), his close friends, and my dad. The dinner was some sort of special event, like the opening of his business or something. During the dinner, he stood up and thanked everyone for coming, introduced everyone, and then said, "this would be a great time for a wedding. Do we have a preacher in the house?" Of course there was, and to everyones amazement, they got married! My dad was best man, and everyone had a place in the wedding. It was truly memorable and a truly unique idea!

We just got married two weeks ago. This was not the first marriage for either of us. We got married in our back yard with 62 guests. We rented a tent, tables and chairs. Put little white christmas lights around the tent. Decorated it beautiful. Hired someone to do a pig roast for us and we did the rest of the food. Had a beautiful wedding cake. (it is on my 360 page). We used our own cd player for music. Bought a moon bounce for the kids to play on. We made it informal so everyone could wear what they wanted to. The guys played horse shoes. We did everything any normal wedding would do. Did the bouquet toss. Danced. We had alcohol, beer and soda. We bought each guest a little glass votive with a candle that had our names and wedding date on them. When it got dark we lit the tent up and it was just beautiful. It was a day I will never forget and I wouldnt change a thing. Good luck to you and congratulations.

I havnt read the oter answers yet so i may be repeating...

Have a family gathering or if you can afford it take the whole family and your closest friends on a day trip somewhere peaceful. When you get there tell them what is going on and tie the knot. Make sure to pack a few cameras, kleenex, a bottle of champagne and some flowers.

Depends upon what type of person you are. You could get married at your local Zoo. You could go to your favorite lake, and do your favorite thing with your friends and family and surprise them with a wedding! There were even a couple who married in a swimming pool wearing air tanks in the deep end. Or how about that couple who got married in the shark tank! I mean there are a zillion ideas. Be creative, and have fun!

Take a trip somewhere; not too far away and make sure your closest family and friends can come and join you. A simple beach ceremony would be sweet and intimate.

Are either of you sports fans? Most baseball and football stadia have private skyboxes to accomadate small groups (if you have a larger one, they can take walls out of adjacent skyboxes). They also have food packages and other options. Depending on the state, you can get practically anyone to come out and perform the ceremony. Congrats!

I say do something spontaneous, really out of the ordinary. If you can afford it, go to Vegas or Key West and just have a ball. =)
