The woman wears the wedding ring below the engagement ring, thus making it closer to the heart. Another practice holds that the woman should wear the wedding ring above the engagement ring, thus sealing the atmosphere of the engagement into the marriage. Still others prefer that the wedding ring should be worn alone. Further, modern ring sets in the United States are often marketed as a three-piece set, including the man's wedding band, the woman's engagement ring, and a slender band that is mounted to the engagement ring before the wedding, converting it into a single, permanent wedding ring.

The wedding ring goes on first. The wedding band is to be worn closer to the heart. Normally on a wedding day the lady puts the engagement ring on her right hand. After they have been pronounced husband and wife she then puts the engagement ring on top of the wedding band.

The Wedding Band is worn first with the Engagement Ring in front. The Wedding Band symbolizes Never Ending Love, a beginning with no end: Eternity....as the 1st Ring on your finger, it is also closest to your heart. The Engagement Ring is a "Gift of Love, a Promise, but it is the Wedding Band that "Binds".

The engagement ring is usually taken during/before the wedding. On the wedding day you get the wedding band and then you put the engagement ring on top of that.

The wedding band goes on first because it is closest to your heart. I've also heard it explained that the engagement was preparation for your marriage and protection of your relationship so you wear the engagement ring on top of the wedding band as a symbol of that protection.
Honestly it is personal taste. There really is no right or wrong way to do it. I rarely wear my engagement ring anymore. It has a diamond setting on it that is kind of sharp. I kept accidently scratching things with it and getting it caught on stuff. So most of the time I only wear my wedding band. I only put my engagement ring on when we are going someplace special.

The wedding band always goes on first because it is more important than the engagement ring after the marriage ceremony.
The engagement ring is an accessory to the wedding band after that; some people will have them welded together by a jeweler.

It is supposed to be wedding band first, then engagement ring. The wedding band is supposed to be closer to your heart. Yes, you were engaged first, engagement is a promise to get married, after marriage the promise is fulfilled and the wedding band takes the place of the engagement ring. But in all honesty, you can wear them however you want. They're your rings. Just get used to people commenting to you about it.

Once you are married, the wedding band goes on first, and then you put the engagement ring on - to protect the wedding band. At the ceremony, though, either don't wear your engagement ring or move it to the other hand, so your finger will be bare to put the wedding band on.

I put my wedding band on first and then my engagement ring. This is purely a practical thing because the engagement ring has a big rock sticking out of it so is easier to grasp to take off. It can be harder to get the rings off when the flat, hard to grasp wedding band is on the outside. My sister wears her engagement ring first because she has tiny fingers and is paranoid so is convinced that it is less likely to fall off if the wedding band is on the outside to protect it.
I wouldn't worry about tradition or anything but just with what you're physically comfortable with.

You don't typically wear you engagement ring during the wedding and you wear the wedding band first so it is closer to your heart and then the engagement ring goes on after that. Hope that helps.
