My wedding is going to be over 10,000+ dollars it looks like. What do you think yours will come to/ did cost?

My fiance wants to just take the immediate family, bridal party, and a few close friends out to dinner. There would be no DJ, limos, cake, etc. We are paying for it ourselves and are trying to put money away to buy a house. So we cannot afford a full gala. Sometimes I am O.K. with the idea and other times I get so sad that I will regret not having all the traditional receptions memories. Delaying the wedding is not an option as we have been together for 11 years. We will be taking a honeymoon. He has said absolutely no loans. I need some advice. Please Help!

I want to throw my sister a bridal shower, and I want it to be unique. She is eloping but I still want her to have a special shower. Tradition goes that you are suppose to have it 2 months before the wedding, but because there will be no wedding is it ok to throw it for her before they elope? Has anyone ever done this? Any ideas would be most helpful!

Not that I'm getting married but my mom and her husband argued about this before their wedding. They had a little bit of both. Small wedding with family only and a big reception at the house.

okay. my fiance and i dont want to have a big wedding right. we just want to get married when he comes up this weekend from AIT. well. i called the courthouse and we could if we did earlier in the day. but he wont get in town until after the courthouse is closed. on friday. i was wondering if you can get married anywhere. like have anyone perform the wedding. on a weekend might i add. and how much it'd cost. because we want to get marrried when he comes up for the weekend. keep in mind that i live in michgian. so i was just wondering. could like my pastor from our church do it? jw. could it even just be performed at home? like anywhere we want. We are planning on having a SMALL (immediate family) wedding. We need to know of GREAT places to get marriedpreferrably country/mountain/river/ outdoor wedding.

I found these dresses that I really want my bridesmaids to wear in my wedding, but they are like $350.00 each. And that is not including the shoes, and paying to have their hair done. Do you think this is too much. What if I pay $100 for each dress, then they would only have to pay like $250 or is that still too much. I really really really like these dresses. More than anything else that I have seen. And I really dont want to have to settle for something else.

We have a few details like cake, flowers, etc... and he does not "have the energy" or all I ever talk about is the wedding... But i need to! he never wanted to talk about it before- and now we are down to two weeks! he put it off- and now we have to make decisions and he still wont talk about it, he wants to just be married- he does not give a damn about a ceremony...
kinda a hippy (lately)
anyway, should I just do it myself? should I even try to include him anymore?

I am marrying for the second time next spring and I had intended on my 7 yo. son walking me down the isle. When I told my dad I was engaged the first thing he said was "can I walk you down the aisle". I didn't really have a wedding the first time but I'm not sure if my father "giving me away " is appropriate.

The bakery said to save on cost, they can make cake to feed 20 people then for the rest of 30 of them- have a sheet cake... but how do they do it? do they make their cake- and then put the sheet cake underneath so it all looks like together? or do they feed the 20 people, then go get a sheet cake- and serve that up??
