I'd like to give my brother and his fiancee a cash gift for his wedding. They will be buying a house in the spring and I wanted to give them something significant. I'm not loaded but I now make a decent living and am capable of reciprocating. When I went off to grad school my brother gave me a check for 1,500 dollars to help me out with spending money. I'd like to replicate this with my gift to him....is it too much? He's my best friend and I feel like if I can, I should but I wonder if others might think it to be over the top...ideas?

I'm not nervous (seriously, we've known each other 3 yrs!)

It's just that everytime I thing about EVERYTHING that needs to be done, I get this 'icky' feeling in my stomach. What's up with that!?

Did you wait long, and if you did, why did you wait?

Or, did you see no reason to delay true love and fly to the nearest chapel?

I have 3 kids and I want each of them to have a special part in the ceremony. What are some good ideas for a 14 year old girl, 10 year old boy and 2 year old boy? Also, hopefully his kids can join us, and they are an 8 year old boy and 5 year old girl. Did/will your hubby do something special to include them in the vows?

i just wondered how many people (in the UK) used a professional wedding planner for there wedding day and if so did you think it was a smart move or a waste of time and money? if you not already married, would you hire a wedding planner when your 'big day' arrives? im seriously thinking about doing a diploma in wedding planning and once qualified, starting up my own 'wedding planning business' and just wondered what the public requirement would be for a wedding planner and if you think it would be worth the time and money if i were to enroling in the course? only serious answers please.

is there usually someone who's expected to plan the reception? (i.e. Best man, Maid of Honor, etc.)

I'd hate to steal responsibilities from someone just because I didn't know it was for them...

My son is getting married shortly and as Father of the Groom I'm not normally involved in the speechmaking ect.
However, would like to make a contribution in some memorable way.
Thought about a surprise speech but can anyone think of any other form of surprise, say a prank or joke of some sort or open to suggestions..
Any sensible ideas would be appreciated
Thanks
