Did you wait long, and if you did, why did you wait?

Or, did you see no reason to delay true love and fly to the nearest chapel?

I met my husband when I was 14. I didn't love him then. We met up 10 years later and it happened then. I knew in the first few months and proposed after 7 months of dating. We married 5 months after that. So from knowing, perhaps about 8 months til we tied the knot.

I see no reason to wait if you are truly sure. As long as you want the same things in life, feel similar on major issues like money and morals and can see yourself old and grey with that person, there should be little to stop you.

Enjoy love while you have and never let it slip by you.

We waited 9 years and are getting married this winter- 9 happy years with no break-ups or anything. We have a child and own a home together. We were happy and never felt the need for a wedding but now we are just celebrating our love with family and friends because we are 100% in love and ready! You can wait as long as you want- It doesn't matter what others think.

We actually waited 3 1/2 years but we knew after the 1st date and I receieved my promise ring after 6 weeks.
We waited because I was still in school and it was a lot to plan a wedding and try to finish school at the same time. We also felt that we could wait for each other. We loved each other we were in no hurry, we weren't going no where.

We met 6 years ago, he proposed April this year and we are getting married September 2007.

We knew it would happen we just wnted to get to a point in our carears where we could afford the life we wanted.

At the end of the day if you are in love and living together the other is the icing on the cake.

We talked about engagement from about 4mths after we met, and planned to wait until about 10 months before we actually did it, but then I had a real personal crisis and he was so supportive we couldnt wait any longer and so we got engagemnt after about 6 mths, we're now living together 18mths on, but won't get married until august as I qualified as a teacher in the summer and it means we'll have time for a honeymoon!

We went to look at wedding rings 1 month after we started dating (I was 25, he was 33). 3 months later he proposed, and then we saved up our money for a dream wedding....a year and a half later. We had everything planned in such advance that the wedding was flawless - everything was great so it was worth the wait! We've now been married 1 year and together for 3 years.

5 years. 3 years engaged. Long distance relationship. Distance makes things hard. We finally got sick of waiting and had a very small wedding that didn't have any of the frills (including a wedding dress). But at least we're married. Interestingly enough, I don't really care that I didn't get all the frills. I'm just happy I'm married to him.
