Okay, Italian foods include things like spaghetti and meatballs (but this can be messy), lasagne, penne pasta. My absolute favorite is risotto (this is a rice dish), veal (or chicken) scallopini, spinach fettucine, flounder florentine, viennese coffee, biscotti

at the initiating CONGRATS!!! I only were given married 8 months in the past and that i began with an fairly restricted funds so i could not have sufficient money a wedding ceremony planner. through the time each little thing changed into suggested and done my relatives and acquaintances and that i had spent practically $5000.00 and that i swear we did each little thing the most inexpensive way i understand how. a lot of little issues start up to operate up after a lengthy time period lol. If my husband and that i'd have only paid the $2500.00 to the marriage planner we talked to first of all we would have got here out alot more cost-effective yet i'd not change it now no matter if i ought to. I had the suitable time of my existence making plans that wedding ceremony.

Lots of people plan weddings without wedding planners because they want control over the details.
Some Italian menu ideas: Chicken Marsala. Is there a beef or seafood dish you like? Some people love veal and others have moral issues with it (due to how it's made) so it's probably safer to skip that one. Avoid spaghetti becasue it is messy but you could go with another type of pasta like penne or something that is bitesize. Garlic bread is a must for alot of people. As far as desserts, you could serve tiramisu or cannoli.
Something that strikes me as a bit odd, if he doesn't want any say at all (alot of men don't want anything to do with the planning which is fine but they will jump in with no hesitation where food and music are involved), I sort of have to wonder why he wants to get married when it's a joint venture? No offense to you at all. But obviously everyone is different.

If this is going to be a buffet I would go with a pasta and sauce bar. You could have 4 different kinds of pasta and 6 different kinds of sauce. If you are having children at the wedding I would also do a pizza station. As for the dessert I would do a tiramisu. I am sure you don't want to open the door, but you could ask your future mother-in-law what she would suggest. Also ask your husband to be since he is Italian what he thinks should be served. I am sure he may have an idea or two.

what spansih items are on the menu already - entrees, side dishes.... what is the menu already? aldo what part of italy is he from - that will make a big difference - you don't want to do something so overly americanized they will be slighted. a salade ala famiglia is always a wonderful side. feel free to email me the asnwers and i will ask my chef - he just returned from northern italy.
not to condtadict the other posters but please no spaghetti - it's messy, people have varied preferences and it takes 2 utensils and depending on the size and location most people won't have the oversized spoon that is required or the proper pasta bowls.

For the Italian - a veal dish, tortellini, lasagne - for desserts - cannoli for sure! Your husband or his mom should be able to help you out! Sounds like a yummy wedding!

Imagine slurrping spaghetti with a yummy red sauce and splattering it all over you white/off white dress...oh no! if you serve a pasta dish with red sauce, consider using a penne noodle instead of long, unpredictable noodles.
