and me as the big bad mom. I know this is unavoidable in this situation, he was verbally and physically abusive, thats why he's not with us anymore. How to get over feeling completely crappy everytime dad comes for his supervised visitation, which is pretty much up for grabs whenever he wants to take advantage of it...he takes us up on it once every couple of weeks each month, then leaves after being the "funnest dad alive" for an hour or two? My oldest gets it as she witnessed much of the abuse and suffered some of it as well, the youngest hates me for days afterwards. I know I am doing the right thing by them, but how do i help myself not feel so crappy about it? Anyone gone through the same thing, any advice?

I'm a 36 y/o guy in a 3 year relationship with a 42 year old guy. We just closed on a house in the midst of our tumultuous relationship issues ( we argue a lot, we are totally different, our ideologies seem extremely opposite, we haven't had intercourse, he is uptight, gets angry at the simplest things, always challenges everything I say, and he is set in his ways). I am optimistic, always try to help him, fix dinner everynight and tell him how much I care for him daily. When he gets into his moods and becomes an a$$hole, I just hate it, especially when it's directed towards me. Basically, we are worlds different and I just bought this house with him knowing that it was a mistake. How stupid, right? He can be the greatest guy when he wants to, but when he is an a$$hole he can really be a big a$$hole. We haven't had sex in about a year.He doesn't want me to leave. I love and care for him a great deal but I want to get out of the relationship and I don't know how. Any advice?

I've been in a 3 year relationship with a guy who is six years older than me. During the last 3 years, we've had only oral sexual relations about 6 times. I've talked to him about our lack of sex but he hasn't responded. I put on a porn flicked and masterbated in front of him and he was offended. We just get in the bed at night seemingly on opposite coasts. There are guys who are very attracted to me and he knows it but he will not concede and give me compliments or tell me how attractive I am, etc. I compliment him a lot because I believe in letting your partner know that you find them attractive because if you won't others will. But, he will not tell me, he will not give me sex, etc. He is uptight a lot. I know he isn't having sex with anyone else because we are always together. Recently someone sent me a text message stating that they wanted to fu@$ me and he found it and became angry. I didn't do anything but I was like ur mad because someone wants to, but U will not. HELP

I am a 30 year old female. I have been engaged for a long time. I am not pushing for marriage, and I definitely do not want kids. I thought this would change as I got older. Is this normal??

In the past year of our 8 year marriage, my husband has been aquiring single female friends. I would not have ans issue with this if I knew the females or he was not secretly contacting them. It started with just females from work...going out for drinks afterwards and phone calls and text messages. This issue caused a huge argument..resulting in him bad talking me to the female...their "friendship" ended after she was fired from the job. More recently he befriended another female...this time far worse than before. He would call her 4-5 times a day for 30 mins a call, and the text message were 20-30(no lie) per day to and from. When confronted, he would say "i only talk to her about our maratial issue"."I need a woman's point of view", when i asked him to end the excessive communication..he began emailing and IM. She would send emails saying she miss him...he swears nothing happened..I know better than that..I even turned the cell phone off..he got a new one and started it up again.

my girlfriends mother had pledged her when she was 3 to an 12 yr.old boy, despite her falling in love with me,her momk forced her to marry this guy.Demeka even told her mom she loved me more and wanted to be with me.I asked her to ask her mom to what purpose did an arranged marriage serve. Her response was it was suppposed to elleviate getting to know someone, well isn"t that why we court and date someone for a period of time prior to marriage? To find common ground?well the guy is 25,and Demeka is 16,i am 48,and Demeka did not break the arranged marriage to me till 4 days b4 marrying the guy.We still love each other and communicate daily by phone and texing. What do yall think bout my question?

Is it so hard for men to tell the one theyre with if & when they look at other women?
It seems to me that men (husbands or boyfriends) have a hard time telling the truth or being descriptive if they see another hot chick. I'm pretty sure that when they are with just their guy friends they have no problem making remarks about other women. Why can’t they just be honest? Lies are much worse than a few moments of a hurt ego.

My friend is having these problems, and I can never find myself to say something right. Her little brother is in the hospital, he had open heart surgey this past week, isn't working out to well. Her father is emailing and talking w/ another women he met over the internet. Her mom does nothing, sits at home, uses up money for personal projects that she says fulfill her life. She doesn't clean, do bills, or anything. She doesnt know her husband is talking to this women, they do not sleep in the same room. He has a career, and she sits at home everyday, for this week tho she has been at the hospital with their son. My friends dad has only told her about the women, for some reason he trusts her and not her mother or her sister, he also plans on kicking her mother out of the house after their son is better so he can marry the other women. My friend knows her dad is wrong for cheating on her mom, and that her mom is wrong for being a bad mother, is there anything she can do?

Parents usually have much more life experience than their children, they probably know much better how to judge someone else. There are so many divorces these days because immature and young people get married without really knowing what it means. Parents will be able to judge how well you match because they know you very well and have saw over twice what you saw in your life.

When people are young, they think parents should not force them to do things they don't like and when they get older they realize they were young. Why wouldn't parents be correct on that kind of decisions? They know what is love and if they really think you should marry someone it's probably because they know how love works and they made a wise choice.

Ok, here's the deal. My husband and I are middle aged. We've been married a year, and are in marriage counseling. Neither of us have any children - just 5 cats! Our therapist suggested we have a weekly 'date night' - we are supposed to alternate weeks for lining up the date. We used to have dinner out every Friday, but that got old and stale. This is MY week to plan out our 'date night' -- it's Father's Day weekend and we'll be traveling on Saturday. I'm running out of time (and ideas) for something to do!! I could use some short-on-time ideas that won't cost me a fortune .... nothing extravagant. Guys?? Gals?? Thanks!

To all 6 replies I've gotten so far, do you mean to tell me that it's better for him to wait for "true love" doing it when he's not young anymore?

Isn't it harder to enjoy sex when you're 40 years old as opposed to when you're say, 22 years old, because your sexual capabilites decline?

First of all I'm 27 yrs old, will be 28 in November. I come from an extremely conservative/old-fashioned family. I have 3 older sisters & all of them didn't move out until they got married. The oldest was 33 yrs old when she moved out & got married (I know). That is the family rule- period. I have been with my boyfriend for almost 2 years & will be engaged soon. I am planning on moving out within 2 weeks but have not spoken to my family. This is going to completely break my mom's heart. I am getting married in one year. Does anyone think I should wait it out or just move out?
