There are about 43% of the population NOT vaccinated for good cause. Most people do not know all the facts on vaccines. So good for you. My son isn't vaccinated but it depends on which state you live in. If you live in MI it is consider neglect not too.

I have a friend that fights congress on this issue and they told her flat out the reason they want every child vaccinated is it is $3 per shot per kid. It is a money ream not a neccessity. Her son was perfectly healthy and normal and after his shot when he was 3 years old he started having siezures and seriouse problems and then was diagnosed with Autsim. They have spent over $20,000 just to get him to be able to listen. NO problems before hand.

Check the laws in your state. Then get the book and this is for the rest of you that are bashing her for not vaccinating:

A Shot in the dark: the truth on vaccinations
and How to raise a healthy child in spite of your doctor.

Also they can go to school without under several different laws and exempt forms.

Also if any of these pertains to you, your family or child according to the pedicatrics association, despite they do not follow it, you should not vaccinate!

1. Born premature
2. mild allergies, ashthma in family
3. neurlogical problems in family
4. any reactions due to vaccines in siblings or immediate family
5. low birth weight
6. Intolerance to milk, or dairy products

(Sorry I can't find all of them but there are 4 more).

Which is why in New Zealand and Austrlia they passed a law several years ago forbidding children under the age of 2 to be vaccinated. Unless it has changed since.

As for going to school all you need is an exempt form and my child has one and he GOES to school along with about 8 other children who ARE not vaccinated. But a lot of people choose to homeschool their kids for this purpose. It should be a choice not a requirement.

Besdies I've done a lot of research and just to name a few things that vaccines have in them:

Mercury, monkey heart, live and brain tissue, aborted fetus tissue (from humans), pig liver and tissue, washed sheep red blood cells, formaledenhyde, formalin, ammonium sulfate, chich embryo

PS there is a 6 million dollar fund from your tax dollars that every year goes bankrupt in the first 4 months or so that is spent on the reverse effects of vaccines. Basically it goes to pepole whose children DIE, are crippled etc...from being vaccinated.

also polio now has 28 strains when the first shot started there were only 2. Now they are called different things like MS, same thing.....my aunt also happens to have a medical degree from Harvard and she is top in her field. Thank you. And the information from Austrilia came from my uncle also top in his field and lives there 6 mo's out the year. Does not vaccinate and hmmmm graduated top of his class from Columbia.

Pretty much all the childhood disease can be treated without lasting effects and those that have severe problems due to them is generally because they weren't treated when they came up. Your child isn't going to die from the measels. You've been watching to much TV.

I've had measels, chickbox and I breast feed my son he is naturally immued from those and mumps. Matter of fact he has full expsure to the mumps two months ago and he still doesn't have them! WOW. No vaccination shots.

Also polio was already on a decline when the shot was introduced. Not saying it didn't help and medicine certainly has its place but don't disrespect someone because they don't want to vaccinated. You know what is best for your child and so does she and me. They do more harm. The problem is the information isn't readily found or given due to the lose of money.

I have ever made...my children are now 13,15 and 18 they are the healthiest children I have ever met...they have gone all through the school system in California without immunizations, I signed a Non-Vaxxing Waiver when they entered Pre-School. Haven't regretted my decision for one second. You have been given peoples opinion both Pro and Con (some good, some not so good) but dont go on opinion..(Research and get the FACTS)Mrs. Ferrari gave some informative sites to look up, now you as the parent must ultimately make your decision for your child...do your Research and I'm certain you will come to a wise decision! We cannot make that choice for you. Source(s):

It is all very well to have this attitude but before you do, try researching the diseases that used to be so prevalent, but now are almost unheard of due to immunisation.
Check out polio. Would you really want your kids affected by that?
Try thinking about how you would feel if your child got sick and died from something like meningitis, which could have been prevented due to a simple immunisation.
I have 5 kids. All immunised. Not one suffered any effect from being immunised. You stress enough about a rash when a child is immunised. I would hate to see how much I would have stressed when a rash broke out on my child if they were not immunised.
Not only are you endangering your own child by choosing not to immunise, but other children too. You have no right to take your children out in public, to the shops or park, if they are not immunised. They could come down with whooping cough, pass it on to a new born baby who has not yet been immunised and cause the death of this child. My sister in law did this to me, turned up with whooping cough, when I had a new baby then wondered why I wouldnt allowed allow her in to see the baby.
In the end, we live in a society where we have choices. Luckily this society also gives us access to immunisation that can prevent our babies from getting life threatening disease. Lucky us. I hope you consider everything before making your choice. Immunisation is perfectly safe. Measles and whooping cough and polio and tetanus.....do some research.
They are far more harmfull than a needle or two. The most harmfull people are the scaremongers who sensationalise one case in a million where a child is affected by immunisation. These people need some sense knocked into them for influencing people who are not educated enough to make an educated choice.

Oh and by the way......I live in Australia and Immunisation starts at 8 weeks of age

No it's not against the law but they will never be enrolled into public schools without immunizations so hopefully you plan on homeschooling. If you don't provide your kids with an education THAT is against the law and you can go to jail and your children will be FORCED to take their immunizations because that is a requirement for foster care and that is what will happen to your children if you are jailed. So either you home school or they get their immunizations one way or another.

You need to look at the stats regarding immunizations. The pros definitely outweigh the cons. Your child can't get into school without being immunized unless it's for religious reasons. How many people in your family were immunized? Did they suffer any side effects? It's much better to have your child get his/her shots because you don't want to go through the guilt of your child coming down with a childhood disease that could have easily been prevented had they gotten their shot. Speak to your family doctor regarding this subject to you can be more informed in the dangers of not immunizing your child.

I dont know the legal part. I think as you, about the risk to use vaccines. I have read a study from Robert Kennedy Jr about the thimerosal (mercury) in the vaccines. The autism is very related to this kind of vaccines. Before the 1931 the autism was unknown. After 1985 (?) the thimerosal started to use more extensively and the autism statistics increase 15 times.
Ask to your doctor for a document assuring that the vaccine is free of thimerosal.

I work with a woman who believes this - that immunizations are bad, that they are kind of a conspiracy of sorts, almost.

She has 2 kids, 1 is 14 and 1 is 6. No immunizations. All health foods.

Her kids are *always* sick. She is *always* sick.

Her kids got measels. In bed for 2 weeks. Then they got whooping cough - which is virtually unheard of since the 1900s - they promptly gave it to her dad who was visiting. He won't speak to her any more. The kids missed 4 months of school because of the infectious nature of the disease.

Not getting them immunized against these damaging, infectious, easily controlled diseases is probably among the all-time stupidest things you could possibly do.

Enjoy!

In some states yes.

Also, most schools will refuse to let your children attend if they dont have current immunizations.

Personnally, I'd rather worry about the 100% chance of my kid dying from a disease I could have prevented with a shot, than the 1/1000% chance that they'll have a reaction and die from the same shot.

The only way of getting out of it is putting in a religious exemption. My aunt and mother have been on this anti-immunization kick for a while. So you gotta choose. There is a risk either way. What's more important to you? Putting them at risk by giving them the shots and exposing them to a tiny amount of the disease, or having not protection whatsoever and exposing them that way? And did you get immunized yourself? Are you healthy? There is info below about religious exemptions. Its imporatant to weigh both sides.

there ARE some vaccines that are required by law, in order for your children to attend school. They take a lot too. And some are in a series. The nurse at our school keeps up with EVERYBODY ! She notifies us when a child is due for something. There has been some speculation about some vaccines being associated possibly, with autism. I can remember asking the nurse in the hospital, if she would give the one I had to "sign" for, to her child, and she said yes. I had seen something about this on 60 Minutes or something. Anyhow, my oldest ended up being diagnosed with autism at 3 yrs. old. ( ...and I guess we might never know why ?)
