Family - August 2007

My partner & I have been together 2yrs, I have a 5 1/2yr old son. My partner has never been a child-orientated person & has always struggled with the demands & constrains that having a child puts on you. We seems to have very little "us" time & have lost being a loving, happy couple. Its like we just live together, we both still love each other very much!! I feel stuck in the middle, resenting my son & angry at my partner for not being more child oriented(she was raised JD & an only child too). I'm sad & tied as is she & its hard not knowing what to do. I want to relationship back like it was in the beining....relationships are always more exciting at the start, its just trying to keep it that way & in reality it cant be, due to the demands that life, work & family places on you!!!!

the father has a mental illness and i feel he mentally is incapible of taking this all on himself ..the 15yr old and besides he used me to get him he was in a stable relationship with me and now he is moving out w/the child and there will be no stability and i know he cant controll this child and shouldnt have him alone with out someone over seeing things.. the mother lost all rights so what do i do here about this situation?

my grandma is the person i hate the most, she just blabbers about every little thing and she thinks shes right!

OMG! ive had enough that i wanna just bash her in the head, shes been treating me and my sister like dogs and worst of all we are on vacation and shes with us, everytime she sees something she goes "ooo" "ahh"

its just embarassing and shes so ignorant that when she sees people from other races or sits with her she looks at them with disgust.

any advice how to excrete revenge the most painful way you know?

maybe do it ala punk'd style?

my 19 year old brother in law moved in with us about 5 months ago after a tornado came through and destroyed his grandparents house.he was living with them. at first it wasnt a problem he was a good kid.we didnt bother giving him a curfew or anything because we could trust him but now,he's hanging around with the wrong people and has an attitude thats terrible.hes also partying every day and i do mean every day either drinking or smoking pot. he hangs around people that are 16 and none of them have vehicles so of course, they bum off him.he has a job so he buys his gas but they ride around all day and when he's out of money usually within two days after he gets paid he comes beggin me for money.we dont make him pay rent or anything all he has to pay for is his gas and insurance for his vehicle.he has a curfew of 12 right now bc i got tired of stayin up worrying about him. last night he tried to borrow some money and i wouldnt give it to him.am i wrong for trying to help him clean up?

She never let me be social since they came from pakistan. But i'm american born. I baraly get to go outside, and when I do, its with my cousins. And the ones shes thinks are "good". I am 17 now and I want my own life!! But thats not even what im anoyyed about. Since im not social i play video games in my room all day. and my mom keeps busting down my door and yelling for no reason. she tells me to turn off the game, so i said i want to go to the amusement park with my freinds tommorow and she gave the "look" to me. I swear i dont get it. She tells me my chores and yells at me, when i do the chores, and i go to mom tell her that im done with my chores she says " do whatever the hell you want with your life i dont care". so i found peace at night time. i stay awake just on the comp or tv. yesterday she caught me up at 2 o clock at night just on the computer. she made the biggest deal out of it woke up my dad and everything. plz help i dont want her to take my nighttime away too now.

If your dad tells you to shut up and settle down if you talk to someone else, or whisper or talk to the dog in a polite way. Or if you step on a sticker and say Ow he says "knock it off!"(in other words shut up you stupid b****)

You're not hyper you're just minding your business and you get hurt and upset and feel like crying. How to deal with this??

You are now 22 and they controlled and manipulated you to the point of you not being able to get your drivers license, nor a job, nor a place to live except there. They're nicer to your brothers.

My hubby's family called on the way back from Chicago & asked if we would drop everything we are doing to have a final dinner with them. Since they are leaving for Texas in the morning. Now, I would not mind if I had my car, because then I could eat dinner & leave. But my car is down, & I must rely upon them picking us up & bringing us home! Hubby did not even ask me, the heat outside is almost 100,& he told them ok! He was just griping about needing work clothing, & me getting them done! WHICH is outside on the flipping HOT sealed shut, NO air conditioning back porch! I am 8 months pregnant & our son has asthma, & we were told to NOT be out in it. NOW, he makes plans for us to go out in the heat just to be with them? I mean I have seen these people enough this week! ALL DAY, Tues, until Midnight & all DAY Wed...until again almost midnight! Isn't that enough? When do I get to see my ELDERY folks? Why is it ONLY his family?
To me it is NOT fair.

He left his wife of 8 years for this girl when she was 18 and he was 34. Now we dont speak, he is moving out of state, far away from his daughter and this young gf of his is preganant. I have a 15 year old daughter I feel hates me. I was never married to her abusive father, however her father was in prison for 7 years for assult not just on myself but other women he lived with. I since have met and married a man who was in the Navy. I had to leave for Spain for 2 years and left my daughters here with their dad only because he had just gotton out of prison and wanted to catch up with them. Both daughters agreed they wanted to be with their dad til I got back. I would fly back and fourth every 3 months to be with them. Ok here is what I don't understand, why is it that my 15 year old favors her dad despite the fact that he was in prison for 7 years and while they lived with him he beat her with the belt so hard that she was bruised for weeks? Now I have asked my daughter that I didn't want her seeing a boy that is a bad influence on her and she gets upset and decides to live with her dad. What do I do? Where did I go wrong?

I am 21..I still live at home and work a crappy job and I go to school at a community college so I don't really have any money. I really can not take living at my house with my parents anymore. My dad is a maniac and I know he hates me. I am everything he never wanted. All he does is put me down and call me a fat slob. He calls me every name in the book...and I can't deal with it anymore. He use to beat me up, but that stopped when I was around 18..I know he would still hit me if I really taked beack to him. It is even worse now..My mom went on vacation for a week and he is treating me like complete ****. I tried to clean the house while he was at work and all he did was complain about anything he could. Calling me a fat slob and telling me who would ever want to mary a f cukin pig like me. I can't even talk to him. My daughter is 15 and normally live with her Dad in another state. She is staying with me right now and her Dad has moved to a different state due to his job.

He wants us to come back together as a family again. My daughter says that she does not care what happens to her.

My ex-husband is controlling and does micromanage minor issues.

His major complaint about me is that I am not dependable or reliable which is valid because I have left him and my daughter many times and gone back. It was wrong on my part.

It would be an adjustment for me to move to a different state. My daughter has to start a new school anyway. The main priority and focus has to be her so that she is a success in life. She is entering 11th grade which is a critical year.

My job is a contract and will be ending in a few weeks..

I see that since my job is ending and she should be in a complete family, I should go. Then, I wonder if I can change and adjust again.

I am an honors student and have been one since kindergarden. I am the only fit person in my house. I have got 9 awards for figure skating. My dad smiles when i bring home my report card and the metals and then it blows by him. My brother wants to get fit so he started to go to the gym. My dad seems so much more enthuesatic about that.He talks about it all the time that it even annoys my mom. He looks for stuff online to show him what weight lifting does for him. Our whole food shopping list has changed because my dad wants my brother to be surrounded by healthy food so he won't be tempted. As i said above i have got all A's since kindergarden and my brother has got A's, B's, and C's from kinderagrden until 7th grade. In 7th to the 2nd quarter in 8th grade he got 2 C's 1 A and the rest were D-'s and F's. In eighth he wnt up from a d to a c+ in spanish and my dad took the family out to dinner beacuse of that. I have talked to him beacuse of that. what to do!!

Where do you draw the line. In general. Married w/ Children, we both work, my parents have needed help, we've been helping them, we feel like we've helped enough, their situation is starting to cut into our needs & wants. We do better than them, but when does it end? Is it when everyone is screwed and totally out of money? Told them we can't help anymore, and now I'm the bad guy.

My parents never get along because they have too many differences, too many mistakes, and too many arguments!!!
The second thing is that my aunt can't be trusted and is not responsible for her kids so she just throws them to our house to take care of and goes out getting drunk with her friends (they're bad people), and plus my cousins and i do not get along! My aunt is the black ksheep in the family because she doesn't care for her kids and hangs around with the wrong people and she used to make us give her money. My parents don't take care of them (because they go to work and they work at the same job) i always do and i'm just twelve!! I do not want to take care of them or have anything to do with them because i do not want them to stay. Whenever i want something and i can't have it - then if they want something she gives it to them!!! ugh i can't wait till i move out!!
