he doesn't want to leave his parents home because he wants to help them pay their house. They have another 30 years to pay it off. I want to start a life with him alone. I love him, yet I do not want to wait another year for him to make up his mind. What should I do?

Do what you feel in your heart, it doesn't sound like he wants to move in with you ... so he's made the excuse of staying with his parents to help with the mortgage ... You should buy your condo and be independent and maybe he'll come around if not at least you'll show your self that you can be an resourceful and independent person!

Well it sounds likes he really loves his faimly. But if he was a man and he know how much you wanted to start a new life. I would think that he would it because he loves you and that just because his leaving home doesn't make him a bad son. But what it sounds like. He's sounds like a home body or his a momma's boy. If that's the case. Leave him and find a guy who will go to heaven and hell and back again. If he was a real man he would try to make you happy. His parents will be fine. He can still help pay.

my boyfriend helps pay too, his parents really depend on him since they are foreigners. If you both already graduated from college and have a steady job, I would say move on. If not, then wait a bit. Only after I get married will I move out of my parent's house, its our cultural thing. I think if you reallllllllllllllllllly love him, you'll wait a couple more years given that the rest of your relationship is fine. Just give a limit, like 2 years, and that's if no one better comes into your life.

It seems he is counting on his parents passing away or going into a nursing home. At this point he would inherit the home and in the mean time he will be enjoying the privileges. It looks like either go along or go alone.

You won't be able to change him and if he does change his mind he will blame you if anything happens PLUS his family will hate you for taking him away from them... Even when you move out together it sounds like he will always be running home to his parents... doing errands for them, eating over there, etc... I don't think you will be happy even if he decides to move out with you...
