Now both grandma's are threatening her that if she doesnt go home, they will take the child away, and they threatened her to take her to court... they've also harassed me and they think I had somthing to do with her running away.... What can I do? What can she do in this situation?? I need law advise!!!!

I'm not trying to be disrespectful. None of the homosexuals that I know or know of personally (not counting famous people because I don't think you ever really know what's going on with them) have grown up in a happy family. Either their parents were divorced and always fighting, or their dad wasn't around, or their parents were alcoholics, or their parents only cared about themselves and never gave their kids appropriate boundaries, etc. So my question is seeking anecdotal evidence to the contrary. Do you know homosexuals who came from a happy family, or if you are a homosexual, did you come from a happy family?

so here's the deal, im 16 and im thinking about moving in w/ dad-stepmom, but my mom and my stepdad are against it, and so is my grandparents and aunt/uncle. when i told my mom she started yelling and saying things like, "I have had you under my wing since day one!!!" and stuff like "I nursed you and had you in my body for 9 months!!!!!" and i told her i loved her and it's nothing against her but she won't understand! i really just want to try something new and i want more freedom. i just need to breakaway for awhile. what should i do? what is involved in switching "custodial rights"?

to his daughter?:
(As a child): "You've been trouble since you were born. We should never have had you.")
(As an adult after an argument): "I feel sorry for whoever ends up with you.")

Would it be normal for something like that to lower your self esteem?

When I was 4, my father was arrested and spent 5 years in prison.

He got out when I was nine years old and I seen him on and off until I was 13.

Then I wouldn't see him again until I was 18 years old.

My mother wanted nothing to do with him and didn't even want child support.

I am currently 20 years old, A full-time junior in college, and I make almost 30k a year working part-time (which often gives me the attitude that I dont really need him.)

He told me that he wanted to be part of my life when I was 18, (why come back when I'm grown) but I have been brushing him off for the past 2 years, what do you think?

P.S. Feel free to check out my Mythology/Christianity question.

My mum is 77 yo and her days are numbered. It is with God's grace that she is living after more than 10 yrs of renal failure. To me, she is the most wonderful, giving person. She has a heart of gold, a obedient daughter, a supportive wife, a caring mother, a compassionate sister, a helpful aunt, a friendly person.

She was match-made to my father who was 17 yrs older than her. Gave birth to 6 kids with eldest and 2nd youngest kids passed away. Despite of being poor, she adopted 2 of her sisters' children.

My mum will do and sacrifice anything for us. With her giving and unconditioned love, everyone of the children grew up by seeing her as the role model. We are proud to say that we are compassionate, giving, responsible, committed. ... and so on.... just like her.

May her life be of comfort and pray that the May the Lord watch over her and ease her the pain & suffering and make her last days peaceful and meaningful. Please pray for her. Her name is Ah Ewe.

My daughter has wanted to live with me(because her dad and I have been split up since she was 6 and she once lived with me last year for 5 months but moved back home because we got into a spat and she wanted to move back home where she has been forever except last year, I still have a two bedroom place but after she left and went home, now the father is saying she cannot live with me even if she wants to, not even when she is 18 because she will still be in school, and he said that if she is going to school and under his roof that she can't move in with me, I am not a bad mother, I go to college, I have a job and her father and I get along just fine, but he said that if she drops out of school even if she is 18 and put her in jail for a charge of some kind....is he pulling my leg or what kind of oppinions do you all have, any?
What about imancupation or divorcing a parent or something?

he has been doing very well for his first job. Showing up on time, working over when the boss needs extra help, saying "ok" when he is called in on his day off. Now that school has been going on for a week, there has been a problem. He doesn't get off until 10:00 in the night and by the time he comes home, eats, showers and talkes to his gf on the phone it is right at midnight by the time he is going to bed. He is miserable now. He has been late to school twice this week, and this is the first week. Also, he gets out of school at 3:00 and has to be to work by 4:00. He is asking my permission to quit. I believe in working. I believe in kids making their own money and saving for the things they want. He had been taking half his paychecks and putting them in a savings account. I just don't want his last 2 years of school to be miserable because of work, but I also don't want him to think you just quit when things are tough. Adivce please...??

i have no clue where to start...first she is blind and she lives with my mtoher and i. we giver our 150% to this woman, we make our schedule [i'm in my last year of university and my mtoher works] based on my grandmother...here's what broke the camel's back! the bathroom is not far from my mother's room but it's too far for her so we bought a bedside comode[i dont know how to spell it] for disable and elderly people. she REFUSES to use it! she uses it like 10 % of the time at night. yesterday ever since i woke up i have been studying for a quiz for today even my grandmother has been telling me to take a break because i've been studying too much. this morning at 4:30 i woke up suddenly because i thought i heard her fall on the floor but she didnt she kept on bumping into the wall to go to the bathroom because she didnt want to use the "comode" nect to her! she did that twice and the fact that i woke up so sudenly my head started spinning so fast that i was scared i was going to faint...

Im 19 and my sis is 22, we get on really well most of the time, and she is one of my best friends. But ever since i was young she has always know what buttons to press to wind me u till boiling point! When i get angry i really lose it and lash out. Today we're having a discussion at which i make a point how i disagree with her opinion on something, at which she had no respect for what i'm sayin and replies with 'yeh i know what yor sayin, but no, your wrong'!!! and this just winds me up 100%!!growing up if i had a problem and sometimes i knew i was in the wrong but i just wanted some moral support she would never give any, always insiting i was doing wrong or what i thought wasnt correct. So today i lashed out at her, punching a book that was in her hand. I know it was a stupid way to take out my anger, but u cant speak to her coz she'd keep just saying 'no' and not repecting a word i said. Im ashamed if i hurt her coz i love her, but even know shes taking the moral high ground...

im 14 and my whole family hate me and they even say it to my face. i get really hurt. its mostly my mom, my grandad and grandma. they all stick togeather and mock me and they dont believe that my mom hits me and beats me. they say i should never of been born and that im a mistake, a disgrace to god and that i came from satan.. iv grown up knowing that im a burden and i dont even know what that is. whenever i get along with my mom, i ask for a hug and she walks off. iv never even had any love from my family, they hate me. they call me ugly too because i look more like my dad and they hate my dad cuz hes a bit darker than them cuz they are all blonde and fair skinned. i hate this life, i have no where else to go. and i cant go to my dads he lives in the south and i never seen his family. my moms family make me go out of the room, i cant eat until they've finished either, i hate this life... i can't take it much more, i got no money, no friends, nothing. i just suffer and get abused

my sons dad has recently tried to return to his life after a long period of time. he didn't pay child support or anything. my son is 14. he does not want to see or have anything to do with him because of it. his dad wants me to force him to go or set up a meeting between them. my son says he does not want to see him period. do you think i should force him to go?
my son does not respect him at all he will not call him his dad but rather by his first name. this upsets his father greatly but my son says he is not his dad, he is his father and there is a difference

My dear sweet daughter packed up and went to live with her dad during the month of May. (who lives right down the road). We had an argument regarding her b/f -- she wanted to stay overnight at his house! I laid the law down and off she goes -- anyhow! While at her dad's (who works all the time and is rarely home) -- she got her bellybutton pierced! (not professionally, but by a friend of a friend)......I just found this out (yesterday) by finding "weird jewelry" sitting on her bathroom sink. (I was in there fixing the towel rack she broke). I asked her about it and she admitted it. Thought it looked "cute." I have always told her no piercings! no tatoos! Nothing like this til you are over the age of 18 and out on your own. She knows how I feel about this -- always has - but yet....she did it anyway. I'm at a loss -- yes, she's 17 --- but! still!! by the way, she's back living with me (stayed with her dad a month only).....I'm at a loss....do I just throw up my hands?

I moved out of my mothers house a year ago to live with my bf. Ever since then she claims I have changed for the worse. She complains I don't call or visit as often as I should. Although she claims to hold nothing against Kevin (my bf), she believes my he is manipulative and controlling over me. She also suspects he has hit me. None of these things are true, but nothing I say will matter because she thinks I'm just defending him.

Now to give a little more feedback, this is my first real relationship. I moved in with him 5 months into our relationship. My mother never really approved of me moving out without warning. I don't like visiting with mother because she always has something negative to say to me. She acts like she holds nothing against him when we are there. But on the phone she's quick to judge. For the past year I have put school on hold because I've been working while Kevin finished up his BA in Organizational Psychology. She holds that against him too.
