If your boyfriend acts suicidal, anytime, yes, police intervention is required. Do it cause you care for him. Contact his family and request he be admitted to a psychiatric hospital. I say this from experience. I was suicidal. My family admited me. I'm good now. I'm a better person, wealthy, and live every day to the fullest. It may be a ton of problems, it may be something as small as depression. Still, check it out!

You were doing OK in my opinion, until you started in with the "You don't know Scotty like I do", and "Well at least I cared" part. Are you assuming that they don"t care?

They are his family, and I am betting, you don't know him like THEY do. He lives in a house with his mother, and there is only so much interference that you can do.

I think calling the police was a little out of line, just because his sister didn't drop everything to run over there and find out why he didn't ansswer the phone, doesn't mean you have to call the cops. Will you call them everytime he doesn't answer you for two hours?

Dispatchers for Police Fire and EMS will often 'Flag" an address for various reasons. What happens nopw if his address is flagged as housing a suicidal person?

This sounds to me, like he was tired, maybe taljked funny, and then didn't answer your calls. Nothing more nothing less.

Glad you fixed things with the sister, you owe her an apology for a few of the comments that were made.

Good luck

I won't listen or read the conversation but here is a good rule to live by. If you are in honest fear for someones life or well being then call the authorities. Better you call and it is nothing than not call and it be something.

You gotta find a better way to pick boyfriends. What - you think you can "rescue" him with your love?

Puleeeease!

But anytime you are in doubt about someone and they are talking suicidal - yes - you have a moral responsibility to call the authorities and report the behavior or ask them to check on him.
