my dad keeps talking about my weight and i'm starting to get sick of it so now i don't even talk to him about food and now he brings up the subject all by him self why doesn't he start talking about my cusin he's ten times worst. I think i'm bueatiful but my dad is making my confidence sink like the titanic :( what should i do?

Tell your dad that it hurts your feelings when he makes comments like that and hopefully he'll be responsible enough to stop making you feel like that.
Parents are very odd in the way they try to express their concerns to their children. He may be concerned for your health, or it could be that he's concerned about what people think. Either way, there's probably a reason behind it, good or bad, so just know that he's not saying these things to you to simply make you feel bad.

Your father is trying to help you even if he is going about it the wrong way. So what if your cousin is a million times worse that has nothing to do with anything. Your father is concerned about YOU, you are his child and your cousin is not. I am happy that you think you are beautiful but are you as healthy as you could be. Being over weight can cause you many kinds of health problems, diabetes is one of them and that is a disease that you would have for life, it can even kill you so your father is not wrong to worry. You do know that he keeps on you about this because he is concerned and worried about you? Perhaps you do need to consider dropping a few pounds, it would do a lot to increase your chances for a healthy happy life. Maybe you should stop getting defensive and angry and start listening, really listening to what he is saying. Over weigth people face a lot of painful problems that thinner people do not have to contend with. Perhaps your confidence is sinking because deep inside you know what he is saying is true but to protect yourself you refuse to hear him. Try listening to him it can only help you. Let's face it we all could stand to drop a few pounds.

Your dad is depressed and admittedly in at present's activity marketplace, he could be scared. a guy his age has practically no risk of having a job making the comparable variety of money that he's now, or any activity in any respect. which ability no medical coverage if he's donning it, and a distinctive way of existence. Your dad is procuring issues because of the fact its making him sense greater useful. you have got alittle greater compassion and a few admire.

Don't listen to your dad and don't let him steal your self-esteem. If YOU, not your DAD thinks you need to improve then go for it, but don't do something just to please him. Don't let it go into you're head. It's your body so it's your responsiblity to take care of it, not his to tell you what to do. If you think you're beautiful then stick with it! Don't let some insecure dad lower you confidence! Surround yourself with people who will have a positive input on your life and love you as you are.
