I really don't like my step grandmother or aunt. My grandmother is weird, religous, and annoying. My aunt is overweight, which I can handle, but she smokes and she REEKS. I just got home from my vacation with my grandparents, and my mom said I was really short with my grandmother and blah. Over the summer, my aunt is visiting, but I'm going to try to hang out at a friend's...what should I do?

We have no formal or court ordered custody agreement, only a child support judgement. I have decided that until his father gets professional help for his alcoholism, that I will not allow him to take him from where we live, back to his home. He can only come here and visit with him. If he pursues this in court, do I have a right to request he have only be allowed visitation in my son's primary home (mine). It doesn't necessarily have to be supervised, just away from the alcohol. Aside from his alcoholism, he and I are probably as close as people can be without being together. We both love our son very much, and care for eachother very deeply. I have no problem with him being in my home, thats not the issue, I just don't want his son growing up around a drunk. I don't want him to have a lifetime of dissapointments because his father can't get his act together. He hasn't been a threat as of yet, but who knows...it can only get worse if he doesn't get professional help.

i recently just saved up enough money for a ps3 20gb, from money from relatives from holidays and other little things, my parents have honestly barely helped me get the 500. anyway, i got enough money, and today i asked my parents if they would simply give me a ride and pay the difference for the tax (i need like 30 bucks for tax, not too much) so i ask them tonight at the table if they would give me a ride and pay difference, my dad immediatly refuses with no reason as to why and refuses to pay difference (mind you he never helped me get the money for the ps3). now my dad starts work at 8am and is finished at 6. thats 10 hours. skool for me is 7. he claims to be tired everyday after work. its BS b/c he so,etimes does stuff arounmd the house easily and watches tv and eats, so his not rele tired alot. anyway, bottom line, im 15 and it took me months to get 500 bucks. im simply asking my folks to pay a simple 30 bucks and gimme a ride. they say NO with no reason. is this fair?

My friend been trying to get child custody of his son and trying to prove the court that the the mother only using the child for money. She's been filing false charges against my friend but they been dropped due to lack of evidence. Ok to make the story short, the child is presently staying with the mom but the child is constantly absent from school. He's either late or absent and when he's in school he seems like he's not interested like before. Everytime the child is absent my friend would ask his ex why is not in school, she would always say that is is not feeling well. My friend is the one providing health insurance to his son but when he asked the Physician's office to if he can see the medical records they declined because the mom gave a letter saying not to give any information to the dad and even included in the letter that she has a restraining order against the dad (of course it's not true). Can she do that or the Physician office deny access medical records?

He is addicted to meth and gets really crazy. He has ADHD too. He has guns. He's had trouble with the law many times. I am worried about my two little grandchildren. My daughter keeps hoping he will just get better. She focuses more on him than the kids. We know he won't get better any time soon. Should I make a report to a family services agency? The children have shown signs of abuse. CPS has already visited them. Would they do anything with this additional information, and would my daughter have the children taken away? I can't just watch and wait while this damage is being done. What else can grandparents do?

I am sure there are countless mothers whose child is about , or is sure to be deployed. Our children are the most precious thing in life to us. We are proud of them beyond measure and at the same terrified at what they are about to face. What we say may be our last words spoken to this precious being. We want them to have comfort and strength in our words. We want them to return to us safe and sound , to know our pride and love . I know my own child will remember every word I say , and maybe at a point that these words could be the thought on his mind at a crucial time.
I do not want him to remember a terrified tearful mom. I will be, but I want to give him strength , to know my pride and love. I want him to be safe and careful. I know this man child is so brave , to the point that he would be the hero. I want him to be brave and proud, I want him to come home safe too. I am so torn at the right thing to say. I want someone that has been there to talk to me.
A proud terrifed Mom.

A trust fund was set up for my cousin in the 1980s. He was married about 12 years ago and his wife claims he is now broke. How can this be verified? His father said he had put away enough for him to live comfortably after he had passed.

My daughter's 1st birthday party will be taking place in about 3 months from now. Sadly I recently lost my cousin and his father (my uncle) within the past 4 months (these are close relatives on my dad's side of the family). My original plan was to invite my relatives from both my mom and dad's side of the family to my child's 1st birthday party in July. I am planning to invite my other aunts and cousins from my dad's side. Is it better to send my greiving relatives an invitation too, or should I not send one to them at all. I don't want them to feel hurt (if I do not send them an invite) and I don't want to be rude (if they have no desire to attend). Please help me in this delima.

okay so I spoke with a lawyer and she informed me that I can do one of two things......I could 1-Not put him on the BC since we were never married I don't have to and if child support is all he's worried about then he won't take me to court (this worries me just because if he decides to then I don't know what my chances are of getting Sole or Physical Custody. The 2nd potion she gave me was to go ahead and put his name on the BC ,file my custody paperwork but he has every right to the baby as much as I do and if I were to tell him one day no I don't want you to take the baby today then he could get the Sherrifs to come and make me. She then pulled up his record and showed me that he had a little bit of one.........a support order already on him by some woman...a restraing order that had been put on him by another woman....and a domestic violence or dipute against him by his now current wife....which she had file a couple years ago on him. It made me nervous then as to what to do

My brother is 19 and was arrested yesterday and is in jail becuase my paents won't pay bond to get him released. It's not that much - $600 - but they say they are trying to teach him a lesson but this is his first time in trouble.

I'm 21 and been there twice - once for 30 days and once for 6 months - and know what it's like and I don't think it's right that they want to leave him there. I'm trying to get the cash together for him.

My siginificant other works all day, then goes to school every night, while I work and take care of his child. I am a great mom, to his kid and mine, I also work too. I am just so mad that I do all household stuff, he has no responsibility except to himself, and the only thing he says when he comes home last night is to complain about how my son wasted half a can of diet soda by not drinking it all. No kind words, nothing nice, just come home complaining after I took wonderful care of 3 boys all day. All I wanted was to be held or kissed or to talk about our days, but I got nothing. I pay my fair share of expenses too, and do everything at the house.

My parents have three 8" x 10" pictures of myself and my ex-husband prominently displayed in their living room. I have asked a couple of times if they wouldn't mind moving them as I find it upsetting to see them every time I visit but they refuse on the grounds that it reminds them of "a lovely day".

I have now met someone else who I'd like to introduce to my parents but these pictures are putting me off taking him there. Should I broach the subject again or am I being too sensitive?

my son is 12 and my daughter is 9. over the last 2 months or so their attitude has changed drastically! No changes in the household at all...everything is pretty much the same. They are still reasonably happy, but they seem to be finding any reason possible to be lazy, find trouble, talk back, give attitude, and generally drive me nuts! Love them dearly but I have no clue as to why the sudden change....and in both of them! Help?
